Yes, my life is in transition. I am now getting used to life as a widow. What will this bring? Time will tell.

Just Fluttering By on a Weds Morning

It's the perfect day to go fluttering about because we are
expecting a balmy 75 degrees here. I'm already getting a good
crop of Brown Turkey figs on my patio fig tree. Yum! When they
start to ripen I have to put a net over them so the birds don't eat
them before I do. And, I saw my first robin looking for worms in
my flower bed. Ahh, Spring time, it's the best.

Blue, Green, White

The pretty butterfly image is from Dover. I colored it using
Copics with several shades of green and blue. This is a nice color
combination to work with.....thank you Danni (FlutterBy).
The green panel is embossed with my Cuttlebug leaf folder. Ooh, that's
a nifty little machine. I also used it with a 4" Nestability circle dye.
I used some lace ribbon and gems for embellishment. I think I'll send this to
my Mom.

Image Provided
In fact, you get to choose from 2 images or take both.
Sketch using Black and white plus one color

My plus one color is Blue. I used a very soft blue on the image and followed
through with the blue glitter accents. My background panel is the spray starch
technique from the ggdesigns technique challenge for March.

This gorgeous entry is for my Soartful Challenge blog (See sidebar).
This was sent in by Faye. Faye was the winner of the Soartful Monthly
Drawing held at the end of each month. She won 3 of Glitterbabe's images from
her Etsy Shop. Glitterbabe aka Stef also has a personal blog and she just announced a contest
that she is having. Back to Faye and her lovely creation. She used one
of the images that she won for her Frame It Challenge entry this week. I think
it is just gorgeous. Don't you just love how the dark blue background brings
out the blue in the frame? I also like the unexpected pop of yellow.
Thanks for sharing this with us Faye.

Tuesday Seems to be Digi Day for Me

This was a fun DT call to participate in. We got
this fabulous image to play with. I had so
much fun creating this card. Cowgirl Up Stamps Store has
lots of images to choose from and several of these fun and funky
images. I'd like you to meet 'Lou'.

When I first saw 'Lou' I knew that I wanted to use bright colors.
In my image program I used the image without the white background and
added it to the purple, orange and black background.
I printed this and then colored with Copics.
The color of the base card is a lively purple (doesn't show up that way here, darn).
The accent panel is cut from designer paper. For embellishment
I used some of my favorite fringe and a small silver heart.
'Lou' is all ready to dance her way into someone's heart.

More bright colors for

The image is from Dover which I colored with Copics. I added a crown
of flowers and leaves and also the sentiment.

One last shot of Color for
Image Provided for Easter Theme

The original image was in black and white. I altered it to a shade of
purple. I altered the color of the clip art to match. Not your
typical Easter colors but I like how this turned out. Especially, because
I had such a hard time getting started with this.

I hope you enjoyed my bright colors and digis today.

Come back tomorrow for the FlutterBy Challenge.

My card for Maria's challenge and
Texture Background Provided
Wendy's Party Color Challenge
Purple and Green

To make this card, I started with the beautiful background provided by
Art Creations. It is so beautifully textured but I decided to give it
even more texture by running it through my Cuttlebug with
an embossing folder. The image is from a floral set at Squigglefly.
I colored with Copics and chalked the image background panel.
The embellishments are chipboard colored purple.
This is one of my favorite color combinations.

Our fabulous, fun Meet the Members Party at I Did It Creations
is now over.
Wow, did we all have a good time. I learned so many new things
from our members. I can't get over having so much talent all in
one spot. Wonderful.
But, good news, we are now having our After Hours Party.
The party events are still open and accepting entries until
April 4th.

And, of course, all of the regular groups are there and ready

A Few Things for a Lovely Sunday

I love this bunny image it is from CowTown Stamps.
I made this tag for
Make a 2 x 4

The notes with wings are also from CowTown Stamps and the
music stamp is Rubber Stampede.
I started with my bunny and stamped him once on the 2 x 4 and again
on a scrap. I used the scrap bunny as a mask for when I stamped
the music. The notes are also stamped on a scrap then cut and glued.
I colored with colored pencil and distressed with Antique Linen and Soot Black.

The sample that is posted at 4 x 4 Friday is lovely. Take a look.

To me, there is nothing better than a nice warm loaf of bread
straight from the oven. Somebody else's oven of course.
I love the hearty breads which I think of as Artisan bread.
So my piece celebrates the artisan bread maker.

This is the last day of the I Did It Creations forum
Grand Opening Party.
Below is a baggie that I've filled with small items.
The object is to guess how many items are stuffed in the baggie.
This is the last day for you to post your guess at the party.
Guess correctly and the full baggie is yours.

The party is going on now at

Now, I'm ready for breakfast and read the Sunday paper.
Uhm, toast sounds good for breakfast. I just happen to have
some artisan bread in my breadbox.

Looking Forward to a Lovely Spring Weekend

I've just posted this week's challenge at
I found this lovely frame and my challenge to you this week is to
'Frame It'. It's your choice of what to frame.
Here is how I filled my frame.

Squigglefly has gotten an early start today with their NEW RELEASES.
And, they are unveiling their new INSIDE-OUT stamps. Take a
look at what Squigglefly has waiting for you.

This is a card that I made using one of the fun images from
Lauretta See Digital Stamps. Lauretta also has a fun new
group on I Did It Creations. Lauretta's group has a Paper Piecing
challenge going on right now. She even gives you a freebie for the challenge and a
tutorial on her version of Paper Piecing.

I made this card for I Did It Creations
Robyn designed a wonderful sketch for us to use.
Pink, Yellow, Orange, Red

This is my completed sneak peak card from yesterday. When I first saw
this image I envisioned bright colors and bling. How fortunate that my pots
of glitter had arrived from CowTown Stamps. Laurel has a big
sale going on in her $1 Overstock section. There is glitter everywhere
but you can't see it. Darn. This is really bright and sparkly. I love how
this turned out.

Our big Grand Opening Meet the Members Party is
still going strong. Won't you join us at I Did It Creations.

My big news of the day is about my son Michael. He is back
among the EMPLOYED. The brake shop where he worked
for over 20 years closed down when the bottom first
dropped out of the economy. Michael was on his 3rd
round of unemployment benefits. Finally, on Monday,
he starts his new job. He will be running a huge lathe in
a place that makes jet parts in Reno, NV. Yay Michael!

I hope you have a wonderful Spring day.

A Sneak Peak

I have been so busy at the Grand Opening Party at
that I haven't been able to finish a project.

This is what I'm working on right now. The image is by
Lauretta See's Digital Stamps. Lauretta also has a group at
I Did It Creations, HERE. I will be posting this card in the group.
That is, whenever, I get it finished.

One of challenges that is going on at the Party is
a Recipe Challenge. This card that was submitted by
one of our party goers, Guylaine. She is a member from Canada.

This is such a beautiful card.

Yes, the party is going on 24 hrs a day. Everyone seems to be having
a good time visiting and meeting all of the members of the Forum, playing
games and entering challenges. You have an open invitation and no
RSVP needed. Just show up and you'll be welcome.

Have a wonderful day.

Happy Thursday

We are having so much fun at the I Did It Creations
Grand Opening Meet the Members Party. Everyone seems to
be having fun entering challenges and playing games.
Something new to do will be added daily until Sunday.
Won't you join us.

Black and White

OK, this is my first ever Steampunk creation. OMG! there are so
many fun styles to try. Thanks to Altered Artifacts for the freebie hot
air balloon. Soartful Challenges is happy to announce that Altered
Artifacts will be our sponsor for our drawing at the end of March.
That is the image that got my creative juices flowing. The next
time I do Steampunk I'm going to dig through my metals stash and
add embellishments.

This Old Photo Image provided
Vintage Children

Aren't these vintage girls adorable. The image was originally
in sepia and I altered the color to match the printed paper.
I love looking at their hands. They remind me of holding my daughter's
hand when she was little. In fact, when I see her I still like to hold her

Easter or Spring
Image of Girls provided
Easter using Digi image

I love this image also. This card is all digital.
I like that bunny too.

In fact, I just received an order from CowTown Stamps and Laurel
included the cutest stamp with a bunny and a cello. I'll be using that
very soon. Laurel has a great sale going on now. Don't forget
her $1 Overstock page. She has recently added tons of new stamps
that are only a dollar. I ordered some beautiful ladies for just a
dollar. What a savings that was.

Well, that's it for today....I've got a party to attend.

I was working on another project when I saw the image of

Good Morning Everyone

I'm getting a late start this a.m.
I slept until 6 a.m. this morning. That's very unusual
for me. I'm usually up before the birds.

Grab your Badge for the I Did It Creations Forum
Grand Opening Meet the Members Party.
It all starts Wednesday morning.
Everyone is invited to join in the fun.

I made a card for CowTown Stamps using
two stamps from their Camping collection.
Laurel has lots of nice stamps that would be perfect
for your summer cards or scrap book layouts.
Don't forget to check her $1 Overstock stamps.

This is also for

The background is white cardstock that I colored a simple landscape
background by using chalks. I used 'Hiking Trail' and 'Hikers' stamps
to create my scene. I colored with Copics.

This is a sneak peek at a badge that I made for CowTown Stamps.
Laurel wanted something for Spring.
It will be showing up in my Sidebar above the CowTown
Stamps DT blog list.

I'm having so much fun making these.

See you tomorrow for the Flutter By Weds Challenge.

A Rainy Squigglefly Monday

This is a sample of what is coming soon at Squigglefly.
For all the details about the new "Inside-Out" images and
the contest they are having follow the link above.
They are sure fun.
Button, button, whose got the button?
Do you remember that game from when you were a kid?

The theme at Squigglefly Challenges this week
is Buttons.

For my card I used the sweet Bubble Blower image by artist
Cheryl Alger. I used the sketch from the current
challenge at Polka Doodles.

I Did It Creations will have it's Huge
Meet the Members Party beginning bright and
early Wednesday morning, Mar 24th.
There will be lots of things going on.
Grab your invitation from my sidebar (top, left) and
post it on your blog. I hope to see you there.

One image, Two Cards and a Lizard Story

2 images provided

I used this one to create my card.

I love this image. I wanted to keep it simple so I printed the image which
had an ecru tint to it. I planned to layer this on to ivory card stock,
which I did, but it didn't look quite right to me. I distressed both
base card and image with some Antique Linen Distress Ink.
I'm still not sure that I'm happy with it.
So, I took the card and added a bit of color with chalks.

The dress is really a soft green but here it turns up awfully yellow, which
doesn't look nearly as nice. Anyway, I like this version better.
What do you think?

Now for my lizard story. Last week we did some yard clean up and
we took the stuff to the Recycle Center in our car. When we were
getting out of car back at home, I saw a little lizard running around
in the back. He must have come in with some of the yard stuff.
They are all over the place here. They are little Anole lizards that can turn
from bright green to brown. Lorne was able to catch him and put
him on the grass. Whew! Then a couple of days later when we went to
the Apron Exhibit, I found another one in the car. We couldn't catch
this one. When we got home I opened all of the car doors, fixed little
ramps over the doors and in one opened door I placed my
Boston Fern hoping he would hop on that to leave the car.
That's been several days ago and I haven't seen him since.
Hopefully, he is in the yard enjoying his freedom.

Don't forget Holly is having a 'Name the Digi Stamp' contest on her blog.
Visit Hog Wild About Stamping for all the details.
That contest ends tonight.

Are you getting ready for the BIG
Meet Our Members Party at
March 24th - March 28th?
There will be lots and lots of fun things happening.
Visit the Forum and pick up your Party Badge to post on
your blog. I'll see you there.

I only got some sweeping done outside yesterday. The front deck, patio
and driveway look so nice now. My patio plants have all been
trimmed of dead parts and watered and rearrange. Lorne is redoing
the paver walkway between the house and his workshop. It takes
us a while but we'll eventually get it done.

Have a wonderful day.

Happiness and Joy

Even though I'm getting old as the hills, I think a birthday
is a very happy event. We're still here aren't we?

White, Yellow, Green

I also designed this card for CowTown Stamps using their
balloon stamp. This stamp is currently in CowTown Stamps
$1 Bin along with many, many others. There are some
really good bargains there.

The joy of Easter is for
Image from Bugaboo Stamps
Easter Animal

I think this card satisfies the requirements for each challenge.
The image from Bugaboo Stamps is one of the freebies
that we get each month at the Special 50/50 Group.
There are always so many images offered that I always
find several that I really like.

Yesterday my husband got out my bicycle. It is now
warm enough for me to bike up to get the mail now.
I love my bike. It is an old one, no gears, no hand brakes and
a BIG seat for my ample bottom. She is painted purple and
has a spiffy basket and a bell. I'm just like a kid when I hop
on and go for a spin.

Enjoy your day.

Are You Wearing Green?
St. Patrick's Day or Lots of Green

her feet is clipart. I made several clovers using a small heart punch.
The 2 paper butterflies are colored with matching colors.

Digital Scrapbook Challenge

We were given a beautiful scrap kit and the challenge
was to use at least 3 pieces from the kit.

Here's my Mom again. This photo was taken last September. That

A Tag and a Card

I like using newspaper for a background. And, when I saw
their challenge themes I thought oh boy. It is also for
Lots to Do with the theme of keys.

I used a card ad from Saturdays paper for my background and fashioned
the card for a Birthday present. Wow, I didn't get birthday presents
like this. The key stamp is from ggdesigns. I stamped it first
on leather in black waterproof ink and then again on
paper that I had inked with sliver pigment ink. The two parts
are stuck to a paper clip with a glue dot. I attached red ribbon
and bow to look like a present. You remember those car
commercials where they put a big bow on a car for a gift.
That is where I got that idea.

A tag for this month's challenges. I used Mad as a Hatter by
Ildi Co. Digi stamps. This is my first attempt at making a shadow.
After cutting out the image I laid it on the tag and lightly outlined
it with a pencil where I wanted the shadow. I used my slate black
Copic to make a broad line. Placed my image back on with
pop dots. I like it. The image is colored using Copics. I used
my favorite fringe for embellishment.

At I Did It Creations we just added a new group called
Lauretta's Digital Stamps. They are special. She
is also our very first 'Gallery Pick of the Week'.
It's a fabulous card using one of her beautiful digi stamps.
Really worth a look.

Something Big is Happening at Squigglefly

I'm really loving this new challenge blog
Andy Warhol Style

I used a picture of my mom for this piece.
Wait until she she sees what I did to her beautiful picture.

Isn't she beautiful at 89 years young. I just got this picture from
my brother a few days ago. Mom is now living with him in Montana.
She just told me that she is hosting the Women's Group lunch at her
church this month. Mom has a very busy life.

Squigglefly is celebrating 225 followers with a
25% off SALE now until April 1st.
!!! Check it out !!!

Let It Shine
You're So Slick
Pink, Black and White

I used 'Inky Paws' by Squigglefly for this card. And, I just
Cuttlebugged up a storm.....I embossed with my Script embossing folder
and cut a circle using my Nestabilities which I got at
Cut@Home. For my shiny and slick areas I used Crystal Effects.

Don't forget to check out the new Forum
We are getting a nice group of members from around
the world and
have just added a couple of new groups.

Special 50/50 Group

This is such a fun group
is a membership only group with 50 artists and 50
crafters. For a small monthly fee I can get all of the free
images offered for each month. The only string is that I have
to use at least one of the images for an entry in the challenge
for that month. At the end of the month everyone votes for
their card of choice and the winner gets a cash prize.
The artist of that winning stamp also gets a cash prize.
Now, that's not a very long string at all.
More info on joining the Special 50/50 Group is here.
I used 'Easter Gems' by Stitchy Bear Stamps and colored it
with Copics.
Of course, I'll remind you when it's time to vote.

Don't forget to check out the

Have you checked out the fabulous new digi stamps that
were just released at Squigglefly yet?

Later today we are going to one of my favorite stores
It is this huge warehouse type store that carries
so many neat things for home and garden.
Lorne wants to get one of those EZ up Gazebos for
shade right outside of his workshop. In the same
parking lot is a Chinese buffet. Guess where we are
having lunch today?
