Yes, my life is in transition. I am now getting used to life as a widow. What will this bring? Time will tell.

Sunday and So Much to Share

Isn't this fabulous.

This beautiful piece was made by
Shelle for this week's
I supplied the background image for the challenge
as the inspiration . OMG! you've got to visit
Soartful and see all the lovely entries.
I hope you decide to join us.
All entries for the month will be put in
the draw for free stamps from
Right now Scrolls Work has an Overstock 50% off sale.

This is my last card for my position as Guest Designer at
I used the darling
Cuddles Kuma going to the beach.

I'm not sure it is ever going to be warm enough here
for me to start going to the beach again. This cold snap
just won't go away.

I made the background using chalks. Cuddles is
colored with Copics. If it ever gets warm again here
that could be me watching the sunrise at the beach.

This is my entry.

Squigglefly has their latest arrivals on display and ready to purchase.
This is the one I'm going to be coloring.
Pears by Angie Davis.

And, I get to use my new pastel Copics that arrived yesterday.
I'll be sharing this with you soon.
Tomorrow is the weekly Squigglefly Challenge, here.

I subscribe to Netflix
and last night we watched 'Julie & Julia'.
It stars Amy Adams and Meryl Streep.
A very heartwarming movie.
I loved it.
I think I've watched all of Julia's PBS cooking shows.
I'm really not that much into cooking but I just love
Julia Child.

A Day of Collage

Pink & Brown
Spot Prize

For this ATC I used a designer paper from Dezinaworld
called Luxury Antiqued. This is a lovely selection of papers.
I added a chipboard element and a flower with a gem for the center. The
gem is pink although here it looks clear.
The woman reminds me of someone but I can't put a name to her.
Maybe a young Ingrid Bergman?

Image Provided
I used one of the images provided at Digi Two for Tues (two images available).
The heart paper (busy) is from Ceremony. I just love what is available
there. I just started adding and adding and adding images. This is another
experiment in Zetti style.

I received my MyGrafico newsletter yesterday and I went to the
store and I noticed they are now carrying
Cutting Templates for Cricut. I don't have a Cricut
....but maybe you would like
to check these out. The prices are very reasonable.

Time.....There just isn't enough...

time or money!

See, not having enough 'time' is on a lot of minds.

I started with a piece of designer paper (unknown) called Grunge and it
was in much bolder colors. I altered the color to an apricot. The money is
a Rupee note from Google Images and the watch is from
a collage sheet from Last Door Down the Hall. I used these stamps:
Woman, Scrolls Work and Swirl, Michaels Dollar Bin. I altered the
colors on the rupee and watch as well. The stamping is done with
a mix of black and silver. The last step was direct to paper distressing
with Coral chalk ink and Antique Linen Distress Ink.
Not much time or money to make this piece.

Image provided

My piece

My mansion doesn't look much like the one given to us. Remember, it
has been 'abandoned' for years in a southern swamp with nothing
but 'gators and a heron or two watching over. The background paper
is from Ceremony where you will find beautiful artwork and freebies.

This is the FREEBIE being offered.

This is my card.
I'm also using it the Crazy Amigo challenge - Red

I used a mix of red, white and black for this card. The sweet dog is
colored with my Copics. I cut him out and used pop dots to
adhere him to the red plaid panel. The hearts on the ribbon are
plastic beads from my stash.
To visit the blogs of the design team look in my sidebar

Now on to the fairies and
Open Theme
Anything goes as long as it is a fairy, angel or butterfly.

It is such a happy accident that I found a paper that
matches this image so well. The image is clip art so no coloring
needed. The embellishment is chipboard colored silvery aqua blue with
an aqua gem. I was going to use a piece of shear ribbon but decided
it didn't need it.

Flowers and Pinecones

Some days just don't get off to a very good start and today is one of them.
First, I ran out of ink and went to put in my new cartridge....and....
if was for my husband's printer. Phooey. Then I locked up
my keyboard and couldn't type until my husband unlocked it
for me. Sometimes when I'm thinking about what to write, I
hold the shift key down and this locks my keyboard if I don't catch myself
and release it in time. I can never remember how to undo the damage.
So husband to the rescue again!
Now, I'm up and running again.

Arch with Angel
This is a fun challenge. Each month there is a theme.
This month is arches. Then weekly there is a theme
within a theme. This week Angels.

This is what I made.

The angel image is from Digital Two for Tuesday from a
few Tuesdays ago. I did the coloring with colored pencils.
The image is cut out and glued to the background paper.
The tiny flowers came from a tidbit baggie from a
yard sale. The bag was marked 10 cents. I still have
tons of them left to use another day. I also used
an apricot colored sheer ribbon.

The pinecone stamp is from ggdesigns. I just love ggdesigns stamps.
I have quite a few in my collection. gg is a fun site to visit....
there are lots of stamps, a monthly challenge, tutorials
and meet the artists page.

I stamped and heat embossed with gold metallic powder. The
coloring is all done with my Pearlescent Water color paints in greens
copper and gold. For an embellishment I used copper metallic floss.

I've become interested in the Zetti style. Well, here is a wonderful
blog to visit, Bling-kin-eck. So much fun stuff to see there.

Off, to Walmart now to buy ink for MY printer. They are
the only store open at the early a.m. hour. When we are finished there
should be someplace open for breakfast by then. Yummy!

Squigglefly is having...

Summer in January
that is this week's challenge at
Be sure to see all the beautiful cards that the DT
has on display.

Here is mine
I'm also submitting it to

I chose the sweet Rose image by Angie Davis of Squigglefly.
After printing and coloring I cut the Roses into 3 1 1/4" squares Everything
has been distressed by sanding and direct to paper stamping. That
is why I chose the sentiment 'tattered roses'. The coloring is done
with colored pencil. My embellishments are 3 pink paper roses that
I darkened with the same ink that I used in distressing. I also
added a bit of gold floss.

Inspiration Challenge
We were given a background and a girl to
spark are imagination.

Which I think is sorely lacking in this piece that I made.
I cropped the girl from her background and placed her
on the larger background provided. I added the word girl
in colors to match. My last step was to give parts of the girl
a touch of blue with colored pencil. Oh, before printing I added
a water filter for added distress. The flower and bead are
really a soft blue gray to match, not the plain gray that
is shown here. That darn scanner!

As for summer in January....well not here in Murrells Inlet.
It is rainy and blustery. Has been since the wee hours
of the morning.

Touches of Black

Saturday I posted this week's
The Little Black Dress

This is the sample that I made for the Challenge.
The fashion icon Chanel was my inspiration for this piece.

Soartful provides the image and a prompt to get you started.
You are free to take the image (to use or not) and the prompt
and let your creativity flow.
Soartful has also added a sampler for the week called
The Extra Specials
now we have a sponsored monthly draw. Every one that
enters a piece for a challenge during the month is eligible.
This month our sponsor is
I hope to see you there.

Da Vinci

He is widely considered to be one of the greatest painters of all time and perhaps the most
diversely talented person ever to have lived

I Googled Da Vinci images and I chose to use
his Codex for my piece and the image of Da Vinci is a self-portrait.
For this challenge we are to use at least one stamp. I used the swirl
stamped in the lighter brown color. And silly me, I stamped right
over the drawings that he did in the page margin.
If you care....I read the book the Da Vinci Code and
I really didn't care for it that much.

Tag Doll

I've decided that I like making art dolls. So, of course, I
signed on for this challenge.

I made a kitty tag doll with a tummy full of mouse.
His body and tail are chipboard.
I have lots of room for improvement but I'm sure having
fun practicing.

" Money in my home is a precious commodity as I am sure it is in yours and I am truly tired of wasting what precious little I have. That being said, there are really tried and true products available and I will be spotlighting some of those products and companies over the next few weeks. ", says Sally.

Sally is a team mate of mine at Robyns Fetish challenges.
She has come up with what I think is a wonderful idea.

On the Soft and Subtle Side of Things

My first soft and subtle creation is for

Waiting for Spring

For this piece I used a leftover scrap from my stash.
I did the coloring with chalks. I'm getting pretty good with
my trusty Q-tip. I love the soft look of chalks.
I have lots of tiny frogs in my yard. I find them sunning on
leaves of plants or clinging to the side of the house. They are such
a pretty color of green and they have yellow on them too.
One day 3 cuties were sunbathing on a big canna leaf.
I scared one and it jumped to the ground and promptly
turned yellow. I didn't know they did that.

My next soft and subtle piece is for

This was all done in my software program Printmaster. I'm still working
on learning Photoshop. A long process for me.

Reminder: Spicey Cat Chick you have 4 more days to contact me by email (see profile) to claim
your FlutterBy Blog Candy. I hope to hear from you soon.

Pink, Red and White

Here is my sample card for the challenge.

I used one of Ildi Co.'s Lolita Girls. I think she is so sassy.
She is colored with a combination of Copics, Bic Markers and colored pencil.
Someday I'm going to have enough Copics to color a complete image.
Are you diggin' those shoes?

Worn Out

This is their very first challenge and I just couldn't resist.

My entry using the Sarah Bernhardt image provided

This is her quote.

"Life engenders life
Enery creats energy
It is by spending oneself that one becomes rich."

I really didn't do much to this lovely vintage photo, just added the quote, a rose and a
swirl. The lines are unintentional but I decided that I liked them and
just left them in.

The best of luck and much success to the new art challenge

Our WW Freebie is Farah Fancy Girl....isn't she the cutest

colored pencil. I cut her out and used pop dots to adhere her to lavender
and gold designer papers. I added a sheer yellow ribbon and a yellow

Eye Spy the Buttons

Anything Goes Just Use Digi
This is a new challenge blog on the block.
They also have an online store.

Monthly Challenge
Challenge Kit provided

I love the colors in this kit. It came with 2 designer papers and several images.
I really didn't do much but print out the papers and layer the flower image
over the purple paper and pop dot it on the panel. In my stash I found
coordinating floss and buttons. I made the button arrangement similar to
one the images provided. This is a sweet set. Join in the challenge and
you might win the monthly prize. I did last month and I'm so happy with
my new papers.

Wish + Stamp

I'm not at all sure about this one.
I like how the masking turned out for Wish and 123. Well, until the
1 came off and it got smudged a bit. I started with a wood veneer
postcard. Put stickers where I wanted the word and #s then sponged
on Black Soot Distress Ink. I used 3 sets of eyes, one swirl and one feather

Pink and Brown

The ATC base is kraft card stock stamped with starbursts in brown.
Three rows of brown and pink ribbon, 3 buttons and 1 flower make
this disign. Simple, but I like it.

Be here tomorrow for the announcement of my winner for last
week's Flutter By Weds Butterfly Hunt. There will also be a
new challenge for you at Flutter By Weds.
tomorrow is Wacky Weds Freebies at
Robyns Fetish. And, if you haven't already,
check out all of Robyns brand new digi stamps.

Do you remember my New Year's Resolution to get my
unmounteds all cataloged? Well, yesterday, I got a big batch finished.

See ya' tomorrow.

Distressed in Blue

The cards not me. I'm happy as a clam.

Clean & Simple w/blue

My card uses the NEW Squigglefly image and sentiment by Nina B. Squigglefly
has new releases every Saturday. What a wonderful selection of digi images
you'll find there.
I kept it simple...this went together in a snap and I really like it.
Be sure to visit the challenge blog and check out all the
wonderful samples. You might even win a prize.

Fashion Arch
Shabby Chic

Well, this isn't showing up very well at all.
The image in the center is a beautiful statue. She is
fashionably draped in lace and carrying a rose. I
nestled her in tracing paper which is torn then the edges
have been curled. I normally do this technique using parchment
paper but I seem to be out of it. The parchment paper shows
up much better.
All was sanded with sandpaper.
It is quite pretty in person.

I'd like for you to drop in at Soartful Challenges and see
the beautiful artwork submitted for the Pogonip/Frost inspiration
challenge this week. I'd like to add yours to my sidebar gallery.

It's a Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood

If you are a duck.
We have rain here this morning. But, at least the
temps have warmed up quite a bit. We've had a
cold snap here in balmy South Carolina.
This card 'Singing in the Rain' is the very first
digi stamp that I ever used. It is from MyGrafico.

Now, this is cold. It is my sample for my new
Soartful Challenge this week....Pogonip.

The beautiful 'White Lady' is from Art Freebies.
I used two other photos from WunderPhotos.
I have personal pictures of 'pogonip' in my collection, but do you
think I could find I have some beauties
from our days of living in Nevada.
We have some beautiful entries
already, you must take a look. I'd be happy to see yours
added to the showcase at Soartful Challenges.

The image is a Dover coloring page.
I added the background that frames the image. It is
colored with Bic Permanent Markers and glitter Gel Pens.
I got the sentiment stamp just yesterday from AC Moore for 50 cents.
I embellished with an assortment of heart stickers.
At first, I wasn't sure about the bright yellow for the base card....
but, I'm really liking it.

Tomorrow is the Squigglefly Challenge and I'll have something
to share with you. But, don't wait until tomorrow to visit. Click that

Robyns Fetish Challenge Saturday

This is our sketch

Here is the card that I made.

The background papers are all from my Printmaster.
At first the papers were all different
colors so I altered the colors to blend. I toned them down even more
by distressing with Antique Linen and Tea Dye Distress inks.
The image is Bull Skull one of the new releases at
You have until Jan 19th to buy digi stamps at 30% off.

When I first saw this image I could picture just how to use it
in this sketch. I printed out the digi stamp and colored with my Copics in
two shades of brown. I used the blender pen to remove a lot of the
color on the shaded areas and a bit on the feathers. The uncolored area
of the skull is distressed lightly with Antique Linen. The silver bead, feather,
sentiment and leather fringe complete the card.
I love how this turned out.

Join in this weeks challenge....
You could win 6 images of your choice.
The rest of the team would love for you to visit their blogs

Friendship, Tea, Relax and Laugh with the Clown

Sounds good to me.

To make this ATC I used designer paper (background) computer generated
the scroll with sentiment and added a cluster of paper flowers. I distressed
with Tea Dye Distress ink.
I love that sentiment.

Here is a piece that I did using Clownkins Interest for
my show and tell as part of January's Guest DT spot.
are held on the 1st and 3rd Thurs

Tea Time

Let's relax with a good cup of Chinese tea.

These are Printmaster images. I used three separate ones and
the black panel for the background. I love how colorful this is.
I printed this out and then gave it 3 coats of lacquer. The high gloss
really doesn't show up that well here. At first this piece didn't
have a background. I added a background panel and I was
going to check out several colors before deciding which to use.
I never got any further than black.

Do you love patterned papers.....I LOVE patterned papers.
I have tons of it but sadly I don't use it that often in one of my
favorite ways.....mixing patterns. Here is a
tutorial from In Touch on just how to do this.

I'd like to thank all you for your nice comments on my
Zetti experiment . I have something else in mind to try for
the next one. Zetti is fun.
