Yes, my life is in transition. I am now getting used to life as a widow. What will this bring? Time will tell.

Yum, Strawberries

I made this for the
Run for the Border

This is Strawberry Mouse from Robyns Fetish Shop.
I gave him a border of clip art strawberries. He is colored with
Copics and glued in place. I used a corner punch to hint at the
bumps on a strawberry. For the red panel I used my Swiss Dot
Cuttlebug folder then lightly ran a black stamp over the raised dots.
The strawberries in the corner are black and white clip art that
I colored with Copics.
The Robyns Fetish Run for the Border Challenge is open
until midnight Thurs, May 6. We have a prize that we just
can't wait to give away to one lucky person.

Have you seen all of the internet festivities celebrating
National Scrapbooking Day?
I Did It Creations didn't want to be left out of the fun so we
have planned a Mini Natl Scrapbooking Day celebration with
a game and contest with prizes and a Show and Tell.
Tomorrow is the day.

Gee, now I'm thinking of nice juicy strawberries. I'll have to
visit a produce stand soon and see if the early crops are in yet.
They taste totally different than the store bought ones.
Yum!
Tomorrow morning is one of my favorite events here
in Murrells Inlet. The Belin Memorial Methodist Church holds a
Blessing of the Inlet. I always have such a nice time and the
setting is beautiful. The church is right on the beautiful inlet and
the yard is filled with beautiful Live Oaks dripping Spanish Moss.
I love to stroll around all of the craft booths and then find a seat
under one of the oaks to enjoy wonderful gospel music and
the blessing. A very pleasant morning.

A Shapely Bunny

This is the image provided for Stamping Dragon Designs challenge.

And this is the card that I made.

Image Provided
Flowers
Flowers
Flowers

I guess everyone is thinking Spring. I know that I am. I go out every day and
at least look at my front flower bed to see how much things have grown. I feel
just like a new mother as I watch all of the new Spring growth.

On to the card. I probably made my shaped card the hard way, but,
this is how I made it. I printed out the card to be 5". Then I cut
the complete image from the square and used it as a pattern
to make my layers. I cut each of the borders away as I transferred
them to the papers for layers. That left me with the center with
the cute bunny. I colored the bunny with my Copics then cut
her out from the center panel and glued her in place. One
ear is popped out with a pop dot. I used a small flower punch
to punch flowers out scraps that were left over from the cutting.
The blue ribbon in tied in the fold.

Happy Monday

Well, now, I'm back to creating a thing or two.

Image Provided

We were given an image of artwork by
Almost everyone is familiar with the artwork by Escher
'Drawing Hands'.
I didn't use the image provided but I used a self portrait done by Escher
in 1929. I added another artwork of his, Eye, 1946, into his portrait.
I don't think this is how he saw himself at all. But, I like how it turned out.

Girl Image Provided
Black & Gold
I found this image and thought the little girl with her bucket would fit
in nicely. I also added some seagulls. I used an antiqued filter on the images.

Now a message from my friend Robyn.

I'm in Stitches

The brand new I Did It Creations Forum is now open.
There is still some construction dust flying around
but you are invited to join us in our new home.
I think you'll like it.

Here is our new Logo. Please grab it and post it on your
blog with a link back to the forum.

Wow, I got another card finished. This is for

Patchwork
In Stitches

I created both gold panels in my image software. Then cut and layered
them. I had the perfect background paper in mind but do you think
I could find it.....no. So I had to find something in my images. I did the
faux stitching with a black Sharpie. I embellished with
green floss knotted and glued in place.

Off to see our new beach boardwalk downtown this morning.
It just opened a few days ago. It's going to be nice to get
some air and stretch out a few kinks from all of the hours I've been
spending at the computer.

When I get back I have to update my sidebar. I have the new badge
to add and the DT Members for the new Robyns Fetish Challenges
blog. Our first challenge will be on Friday, 4/23.

Please, stop by I Did It Creations. Our door is always open.

Kewl

April Challenge Entry

For this card I used this really cute BeccaKay image.
It is one of this month's designer freebies for belonging to the
Special 50/50 group.

I created a background for my little wild child by adding
stripes for wallpaper, a round picture and a set of pillows.
I stuck her in place using tape and a pop dot. She is colored
with Copics. I think she looks right at home sitting there
on her pillows.

Saturday is also new challenge day Soartful Challenges.
The inspiration photo is posted in my sidebar. Our theme this
week is Shy Beauty. Come join us.

Earlier, we went out to visit a few yard sales. There were three
right here in our neighborhood. I like to do that once in awhile.
It's a fun way to get a bit of fresh air.

Have a happy Saturday.

Bears, Butterflies and Angels

Open

the Letter 'B'

This card uses the cute Cuddles Kuma from Ildi Co..
I love little Cuddles. I added the butterfly to his tail but he came with
the cute one on his nose. I used die cuts
to spell out 'b' ear. I colored using my Copics.

Here is another cute image from

from Robyns Fetish Digi Stamps . This image and many more
brand new digi images are now available.

I colored with Copics and sprinkled a bit of glitter on the birdie's
head, wings and tail. The border and sentiment are computer generated.
I added a bright flower, button and feather for embellishment.

I will be posting our first challenge at Robyns Fetish Challenges on
Friday, April 23. Come and join in the fun and maybe you will

Challenges, challenges, challenges

Welcome to Saturday at H20 Creations.
I've had such a busy week but a wonderful one,
that's for sure.
My first piece is for my Soartful Challenges. For inspiration
this week I chose this embossed white background. Everyone
is welcome to join in this challenge. This month we are being
sponsored by Altered Artifacts where you will find
beautiful collage sheets, tutorials and beautiful artwork.

The embossed white background brought out the Oriental in me.
Please join me....I'd love to see how this inspires you.

Black, Red, Gold and a bit Oriental
Red

Doesn't that red poppy look real? I love Oriental Poppies.
I should plant some of them in my garden. The background is
Oriental Poppies also.

Blue and White
Sketch Challenge
Image Provided

I have a terrible time lining things up straight. I used a ruler, a lined
cutting pad and anything else I could find to help me. But, there is
something about my vision that prevents me from doing this,
even with all of the measuring aids that I use. So, this definitely
has the handmade by Jeanette look with its uneven edge.
I colored the image with several shades of blue Copics. I ran the
printed paper through my Swiss Dot Cuttlebug folder before
cutting the 4 pieces. The center strip is a scrap left over
from around my print. I ran a blue ink pad over the dots.

Just a Note
I Did It Creations and Show and Share Art are on Ning Network which
is doing maintenance as I write this.

Have a wonderful Saturday. I have a little mowing to do today.
Love the smell of freshly cut grass.

Tag You're It

I had something a bit unusual for me a sketch to follow
for at tag. I think this is the first time I've seen a tag sketch.
Sketch
On the Spot
Time
Open Theme

This is my tag. I like everything about this, except, my flower choice. I'm not
quite sure that is working.

Inspiration given
Rainbow Rembrandt, 1977 by Larry Rivers

I didn't use the artwork provided but I was
inspired by the lovely colors in the inspiration image.

I started with the silhouette of the cowboy and the sunrise.
I printed out a stylized sun stained glass pattern on clear vellum and colored
in the different areas with soft pastel colors. I used Copics but they
really didn't work that well on the vellum that I used. And, OMG! this
scan shows every little imperfection. The lighter colors worked fine. It
was the darker colors that didn't work well, they streaked. I think maybe
chalks would have been a better choice.

My first class is now in session at I Did It Creations 'In the Classroom' group.
Now, don't be late for class.

You might be familiar with QKR Stampede Stamps.
They are new to me but I like what I saw there. They bill
themselves are "somewhat cute, somewhat quirky".
They are having a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony Blog Hop
to take part in the blog hop your starting place is HERE.

Last night we had a thunderstorm that rocked the house. About 1 a.m.
this morning it all started. At first it was far away but it steadily came
closer until I'm sure it was right over our house. The brightest lightning, then
the loudest cracks of thunder. Then I can hear the sound rolling out
to the ocean. It all passed over very quickly. What a way to start a morning.

Shades of Aqua

I'm getting a bit of a late start this morning. I had
a couple of early a.m. appointments.
My first piece is for
Film or Television
I remember growing up with the Ed Sullivan show. I watched his
'really big show' (only he said show as shoe) every week. The Italian
puppet was my favorite, little Topo Gigio. And, of course, I was
there for Elvis and the Beatles. My digital creation is made up
of pictures found on Google Images. The background picture is of
the old Ed Sullivan Theater. David Letterman films from there now.

Use Image Provided
Theme - Magical

I think this is pretty magical. I love how this turned out.
I started with such a lovely 'magical' image which made it all the easier.
This is a new monthly challenge for me.
I'm going to enjoy doing the Mind Wide Open challenges.

Friday our new Classroom opens at

Each month we will have techniques to try, tutorials to watch, lively
discussion and sharing of our artwork. Don't miss our first class
in our brand new Classroom.
New things are always happening at I Did It Creations.

Flutterby Wednesday

Sparkle

This is the card that I created for this week's 'Sparkle' challenge. The
butterfly image that I used is from my friend Stef the Glitterbabe her Blog and
Glitterbabe her Store. Stef is a former member of the Flutterby DT and she
is now designing her own digi stamps. And, you know what, she draws
them all freehand. She is an amazingly talented lady. Don't miss her
blog she has one of the most entertaining blogs out there.
Now, to make this card I also used a a picnic basket from CowTown Stamps.
My base card is gold with a purple panel. Next, comes the designer
paper panels with one of the elements cut out and pasted to the corner.
I also highlighted this piece with Glitter Gel Pens. The pretty butterfly
is colored with Copics and then colored again with Glitter Gel Pen.
I used two artifical flowers. One of the flowers has been cut in half and
glued to the back of the basket. The basket is adhered with a pop dot
in the middle to make it curve out and glue dots on the top edges and
top of the handle. Another glue dot holds down the bottom edge.
Another flower is tucked in the basket with a gem center. I like
the 3-D effect of this.

There, all done fluttering for the day. Off to the Outlet
Stores this morning and shop for shoes for my poor shoeless husband.

The Desert in Bloom

My daughter, Susan, just returned from a long Easter weekend in
Death Valley, CA. She and Will go at least once a year. This year
they chose a springtime visit to see the desert in bloom.
Her are just a few of the pictures that she has posted on
her blog, Cinnamon Thoughts with a link to her pictures on Flickr.

Animal Antics
They also are having a DT Call.

To me a house is not a home if it doesn't include a cat or two.
The picture provided is an interior shot of a home in Bodie State
Historic Park in California. Bodi is a genuine California gold mining
ghost town. I added all of the cats. Don't miss the one swinging on
the chandelier (lantern).

Come back tomorrow for my sample card for the Flutterby Weds challenge.

Have you joined the newest and friendliest online

Well, you better check out I Did It Creations. You'll meet
wonderful and talented paper crafters from all over the world.

Monday at Squigglefly

Unfortunately, due to technical difficulties, Saturday's
Mini Release at Squigglefly has been rescheduled to
April 10th.

No technical difficulties at Squigglefly Challenges.
Kim is your hostess with the mostess this week for
the 'Flap Card Challenge'
It's fun and it's easy.
and for
Fancy Folds

I followed the instructions at Splitcoast Stampers to make my
flap card. I don't make many fancy fold cards but this one is
a snap to make. I didn't show the inside because it is just a white
panel for writing. I used Squigglefly's circle sentiment and then punched
a circle using Cuttlebug with Nestabilities. I used the next bigger
circle to make my border on a multicolored
striped black paper. I changed dies and cut the flower with a Sizzlet.
That holds my flap down because I didn't have the magnet that
it called for in the instructions. This is my first 'flap card' and it
turned out pretty good, I think.

It's a Bug's Life
Spring

I chose to make my ATC sized tag showing a Spring picnic. Who invited
the ants?

Have a wonderful start to your week.
To get if off to a good start today is the day that we
announce the winners of our Grand Opening Meet the Members Party
challenges at I Did It Creations Forum.
and my Gallery Pick of the Week.
Stop in and congratulate the winners.

Here is a link to Digital Scrapbooking where you can
have a very nice monthly Newsletter emailed to you and
find many lovely papers for your papercrafting projects.
And lots of Freebies there, too.

I Wasn't Going to Post Today, But.....

I couldn't resist showing my 'Bunny Person'

My Bunny Person is done in the very colorful and fun Zetti Style.
I'm really quite fond of this style. I love the mixing and matching or
maybe it's mixing and mis-matching of color and images.
Whatever, I really like how this turned out.

Happy Easter

Soartful Challenge Saturday

Welcome to another Soartful Challenges week
Here is a gorgeous image for your inspiration.
Our theme this week is Easter Finery (or not).

I found this image at June's (Dezinaworld) new art forum
Show and Share Art Forum. It is an image from
the Freebie sections that was sent in by Dorthe.
Our wonderful sponsor for the monthly Soartful drawing is
Altered Artifacts. Please pay Inka a visit.

A little something from Julie and me. It's from Julie, too, because
I used her technique of creating a background with 2 designer papers.
Her card is called 'Ahoy Captain', see it here.

When I started putting this together, I was thinking "this isn't working for me".
But, the more I fiddled the happier I became. I tore the paper to
make an irregular horizon. It looked terrible. I tried distressing the
edges, still terrible. Got out some colored paper and started punching
flowers. I glued them along the the seam. Hey, I'm really liking this now.
The picnic table stamp that I used is from CowTown Stamps.

Have a HAPPY EASTER everyone and I'll see you
on Monday.

New Release Day Tomorrow

Yes, tomorrow Squigglefly is having a Mini-Release Day.
This is just one of the images from the new set by
Nina Brackett called Textile.
I used this very stylish shoe.

I'm really disappointed in how this shows up here. It is really
pretty in person.

Time for Tea
You Are What You Eat

Well, in this case I am what I drink.

Tangerine Lake

My friend June just started this lovely new art forum. This is for
the first of June's weekly challenges. Our challenge was to create
an art piece using the color tangerine. Some of you might already know
now this new art forum. June also started the Soartful Challenges blog.
If you want to enjoy some very beautiful things...visit June's sites.

Today, I think I'll go out and pull some weeds. There is always
so much to do in the yard. But, I'm not complaining...I love it.
I'll be thinking about my daughter's trip this weekend to Death Valley
to see the Desert in Bloom because of the rains there this year.
I'm really looking forward to seeing her pictures.
And, I'll also be thinking about my son and how nice it
is that he now has this fabulous job. His first week at his
new job is over. But, he is going in today, overtime, to train on
driving a forklift. My son can drive anything so I don't imagine he'll
need much training. Wonderful thoughts to ponder while pulling weeds.

On the Asian Side of Things at I Did It Creations

Scrap It
Image Provided for Paper Piecing challenge
Asian Theme

Except for the base card this is all made from scraps.
I've used scraps of coordinating papers for the background panel
and her dress. The coin is wrapped with a gold foil candy wrapper.
She is colored with Copics. I really like the colors.

Your opinion counts at I Did It Creations.

Everyone is invited to join in the swap.

Have a wonderful day.
Thanks for stopping by.
