Yes, my life is in transition. I am now getting used to life as a widow. What will this bring? Time will tell.

I should have put a bee on this card....

..... instead of a butterfly. I've been busy as a bee. Not
fluttering around like a butterfly. I've been working on this card
since last Weds. It was meant to be my DT card for

Favorite Embellishment

which began on Friday.

Better late than never. My friend Stef of Glitterbabe is our sponsor
for our I Did It Creations challenge this week. I used her pretty
flowers in a glass vase image.
I colored the image with chalks and then went over it with
Pearlescent Watercolor paints. You can't appreciate it here but it
has a nice sparkle. One of my favorite embellishments to use is
a butterfly.

You might be wondering what has kept me so busy. I 've been
busy moving our forum to its new home and with a brand new name.
Are you ready for this?

Stitchy Bear has joined the I Did It family. Both at the I Did It Creations Shop and
our brand new forum. Today is our big opening day. So run right over
and join in the mixing and mingling and sharing with fellow
paper crafters.
Our door is always open.

Some Soartful art to share

I haven't had much time to be very creative lately. But, others
sure have been. On Saturdays I have my Soartful challenge blog.
While visiting one of the entrants blogs I found this wonderful piece that
she had posted. I just had to share with you.

I found this on Danit's blog. This was an entry for the 4 x 4 Friday
challenge that I have played in before.
Don't you just love it? I do.

The challenge this week at Soartful Challenges is
I Am Woman
You are invited to join in this challenge. I'd love to see
what 'I Am Woman' means to you.

Pop Art and the Blues

No Business Like Show Business

I found this wonderful image at Google Images. I think this is such
a fun piece of art. To see more of Charles Fazzino's art go here. This is
his pop art picture of broadway shows in NYC.

Me, have the blues? No way.
But that is the theme at Inspirations Ave this week
And this is what I came up with.
'My Soul is in the Sky'

The quote is from Shakespeare's Midsummer Night's Dream.

Tag You're It

I made this tag for
Punches or Die Cuts

This tag's final destination is Australia for a swap.

I started with a plain generic tag from the office supply store. I glued on a
second tag for more support then distressed the edges. While cleaning my stamp
with a wet wipe I used the wipe to daub a little more distressing over the
stamped music. The die cut was glued and sprinkled with copper glitter and
left to dry while I continued on with the tag. A little hat picture there, a
plastic shoe there, a pretty butterfly and maybe some wings to go
at the bottom. The tie is scraps of old lace, a fringe rose (also distressed),
strands from a tassel. My die cut is dry now and placed over
the wings. Maybe a pearl or two here and there. The edges are
trimmed with gold sticker strips. I never really know where I'm going
to go with an altered item. They just sort of happen. I'm happy with
this one.

One place I would go if I were you is to the

There is a 50% off sale going on right now. That's 50% off from
8 Designer's fabulous digi stamps.

Soon to come will be Cutting Files for your Cricut, Silhouette, Craft Robo or Wishblade!
Wendy and Jeanette have started to sell their Custom Made Greeting Cards too!! Tell your friends who do not create cards to take a look at their Gorgeous Cards. They will be putting some more in the store real soon.
Soon our I Did It Creations Shop is going to have a bit of everything
for your crafting pleasure.
Even Greeting Cards from me.
Since, I only have one card in the store right now, I decided to
change my logo. My last name is Waters, my creative name is
H20 Creations.....don't you think something with water would be
appropriate. This is what I came up with. I'll be adding more
cards in the shop today.

Speaking of water, we are having quite a down pour right now. So far
this week we've had a quick shower go through every day. Ahhhh, it is
so green and beautiful here.
If I don't wash away I'll see you tomorrow.
Have a wonderful day.

Enjoy the Day

It's a new day and I want you to enjoy it.
Here is a friendly rooster to start your day off right.
Cock a doodle do

Farm Animals

It only takes about an hour, isn't that what Lens Crafters said?
That is the premise behind One Powerful Hour. Start to finish, including
clean up, in One Powerful Hour. This only took me about an hour to
create. I found the image that I wanted to use, added text and
printed out on glossy card stock. Before adding the picture panel
to the base card I wrapped gold twine and tucked in a feather.
There, your good morning wake up call rooster reminding you to
enjoy your day. I wish he didn't crow quite so early.

Have a wonderful day.

Monday Happenings

Quite a bit is happening today and I'm here to tell you
all about it.

First Robyn's Fetish has a new release today of several brand
new digi stamps. You can find them at

Beside showcasing a card made with one of Robyn's brand new
digi stamps. This is also for
I decided that I wanted this card to have a country feel. So I chose
to distress the edges with scissors and run sandpaper over the
background. That looks pretty distressed. I also pop dotted one
blossom on top of the other. The image is colored with Copics.

One for the Boys
Red, Black, Khaki
CAS Clean and Simple

The base card is khaki with a red panel and a black panel textured with
a Cuttlebug embossing folder.
I cut the circle from a corduroy look background paper with
Spellbinders. The cap is put on with pop dots. The cap was
colored with Copics.
You can find this cap digi stamp by Glitterbabe at

The next thing that you will see at I Did It Creations Shop is this logo.

Yep, I've jumped into the shop with my friends. But since I can't
draw even a stick figure, I'm in the Handmade Greeting Card department.
I only have one card in there now but more will be coming soon.

Happy a very good Monday.

Frieda Kahlo's Viva La Vida
Flourishes and Swirls
This is our inspiration image

I added this portrait by Frida that I found on Google.
And, with cropping of images and adding backgrounds,
this is my finished piece.

I love to travel and on a trip to Guanajuato, Mexico with
my daughter we visited this beautiful colonial city.
It is a walking city of narrow cobblestone streets and tiny
alley ways. On one of these lovely streets is the house
where Diego Rivera and Frida lived. We were thrilled to be able
to see original art by Frida and Diego as we toured
this charming little house.

Have a wonderful Saturday.

Lot's of Green and Blue

Let's get going on the green.

Card for a Child
Die Cuts or Punches

I've been wanting to use this image for such a long time. It is from
my friend Stef of Glitterbabe. You can find Stef on her fabulous blog

This is Draco Dragon and I think he is the cutest dragon that I've
seen. I colored him with Bic Permanent Markers and gel pens.
I've added glitter on the image border to tie in with the glittered
die cuts.
I think this card would be a fun card to send a child or someone
who is a child at heart.

I found this image on Google and evidently this bottle forest can
be found on Route 66. I heard there were some interesting places to
see on that route. It looked sort of plain with just a
rectangle full of bottles. So what I did is make several
layers by duplicating and resizing the image. I thought it
needed a bit more definition to the layers so I added black borders.
I added the bottle and flowers to give your eye a break.
I had fun trying something different. I think I like the end result.

Howling at the Moon

Image Provide
Show Our Animal Friends Some Love

This fabulous digi stamp is from Stamp & Doodle.
I put my wolf on a piece of found birch bark. I received a big piece
of birch bark straight from the wilds of Montana from my friend Elva.
I love using the birch bark. Although, for this piece I need to put my
wolf and bark on a sturdier background. I think this card is going on
my all time favorites list.

Moon Shadow

My version of moon shadow actually came from my memories of seeing 2
solar eclipses. Once on a special cruise just for Eclipse viewers. We sailed
from NYC to Dakar, Africa with a stop at the Canary Islands.
This was in 1973. Seeing this eclipse was truly a magical experience.
On deck in the middle of the day and being able to watch the moon
slide across the sun and gradually dim the sky to twilight. It was a
truly unforgettable experience. And, just to do a little name dropping
on this cruise we met Scott Carpenter and Neil Armstrong. They not
only gave classes but they also mixed and mingled with the passengers.
Another famous guest on board and a real treat to meet was
Isaac Asimov. I'm not a big fan of his science fiction books but I sure
enjoyed him as a person. I read his biography and included was
a chapter about this very trip. And, I was there.

On a trip to Hawaii several years ago, my daughter and I were fortunate enough to see
another solar eclipse. We happened to be in our tour bus at the time in
downtown Honolulu. We had no idea this was taking place until
we were on the plane and most of the passengers were flying to
Hawaii just to see the eclipse. What a happy accident that was.
It really is exciting to see the sky dim during the eclipse.

Teddies and Fairies

I'm getting a very late start today.

Our theme at Soartful Challenges this week is Teddy Bears Picnic.
The inspiration pictures are just adorable. One the cuties is in my
sidebar under Current Challenge and the other is posted at Soartful.
I got these cute little guys for June at Dezinaworld on one of her
freebie give away days.

Here is my sample.

My teddy is tired after her day at the picnic so she is resting on
her little girl's bed.

Incy Wincy Designs has a charity online store,
Aspire to Thrive. All proceeds for images sold go
directly to charity. The link is right at the top of IncyWincy's
front page. You can't miss it.

For this card I used lil Angel by Stitchy Stamps.
I wasn't at all sure about this color combination for a fairy. But with the
addition of lace and ribbon it turned out just fine. I did get a little
hungry while making this though. I kept thinking about all of that
mint, chocolate and cream.
The lace is from a vest that I've been tearing apart and using the
pieces on my cards. I've just posted a new challenge at
You are welcome to join the challenge.

digi stamp Farah Fawn. This image is available on our challenge blog.
If you use a Robyns Fetish image in your entry you
will be in the random draw for 2 digi images of your choice.

Here is the card that I made. Also for
Too Cute
I think Farah Fawn fits the bill as being Too Cute.

Farah is colored with Copics and the background on the image panel
was done in chalks. I stamped trees on the base card in 2 shades of green.
I added my butterflies for the theme and a scrap of netting and fabric flowers.
My flowers are cut from a piece of trim.

Ocean Shades of Blue & Green + Initial

I created this piece digitally. If the color of the image that
I wanted to use was not the right color I altered it with a color
filter. The background was done using a 'water' filter.

Thanks everyone for stopping by. I'll be paying you a visit soon.

When I think of home I think of my flower garden. I love to go out and
putter around. I don't even mind pulling weeds. I do wish that
my thumb was a bit greener.

I really wasn't sure of my color combination. I've been trying to jump out
of my color box a bit. I see so many great color combos that I would
never have dreamed of using. So I'm being brave and trying
a few new to me ones out. This combo is using Ivory card stock,
panels of light yellow green, golden yellow and a blue multi dotted paper.
The flowers are colored with chalks.

Tuesday's Mix

We are to Scrap our Pet for Robyns
Scrapbooking Challenge Group

This is our cat Red and he loves to craft. But he keeps losing his
Mojo and has to take a little catnap to get refreshed.

I have to be very careful of what I leave out on my desk. Red will either
decide that it's something fun to play with or a nice place to take a nap.
I did this LO in my image program (Printmaster). The crocheted flowers
are a scan of some real ones that I have. The background paper is color
blocked and I added the stitches. See the lamp? That is one of my
favorite things. It's an OTT Lite and it shines in natural Daylight.
I couldn't do without it.

Color Challenge - Kraft
20s Fashion

I hit a roadblock with this one right away. I had used all of my Kraft paper.
Oh what to do. Rummage through my stash to see what I can use. I found
some kraft colored wrapping paper. That will work even though it is a bit
wrinkled. Just adds a little texture. I love how this card turned out.
The sketch worked perfectly for this card.

Well, I'm off now to do a little blog hopping. I haven't been
around for a visit for a few days.

I have a nice story for you.
On Saturday we were deciding if either one of us felt like mowing
the front lawn. It was really a mess out by the street. We decided it was
much to hot and we would do it later. A bit later, I heard a mower really
close by. I looked out the window and there was this young boy
mowing our front lawn. Now, how nice is that? Pretty darn nice
I'd say. I sent Lorne out with money for him as a thank you.
He did a really nice job. Now that doesn't happen

Have a wonderful day today.

Happy Monday

My computer work seems to be pretty caught up. That made
more time for me to be creative and catch up on a few
other things.

Reflections Technique

I was inspired to try this technique after visiting Beth's Sunflowers & Dragonflies
blog. I didn't have a brayer so I scouted around the internet and found other
ways to do this fun and easy technique. This is my very first card.
I need to practice a bit more. But, I'm
lovin' this. To see the instructions on how I made this card

I cropped that out. Ahhh, altering colors and cropping it can change an
unusable image into something just right for your digital project.
