Yes, my life is in transition. I am now getting used to life as a widow. What will this bring? Time will tell.

Darn!!! My internet has been down for 2 days.
We've had severe thunderstorms here and we thought
that is why we lost our internet. After hours and hours,
and finally a call. The internet wasn't down, we were just
down. It turns out it was our router.
But, all is good now.

Something New

The 'something new' is the new clipart'. Every image has
been altered in some way. I think that it all blends nicely

We are expecting more storms all week. Some of the
thunder has rattled the windows. I like it much better
when it is out in the ocean.

Have a wonderful day and thanks for stopping by.

Music, Music, Music

I can't sing or play and instrument but I do love music.

Songs We Sing

I stamped the music notes on the music paper printed paper.
Added mesh and flowers and that's about it for this card.
Nothing spectacular but I kind of like it.
Not too sure that I like the flower center. I might
just have to change that.

The music note stamps are from CowTown Stamps.

I'm having a laid back Sunday. How about you?

Happy Saturday

I made this 4 x 4 for the following challenges

cemetery angels

I googled both of these images. I left them pretty much as
I found them. The angel was more of an antique brown color so
I altered the color and solorized the image. I really like how this
turned out.

I was surprised to type in cemetery architecture and have scads of
images to choose from.

Today is a brand new challenge at Soartful.
Our theme this week is
A Jug of Wine, A Loaf of Bread and Thou.
The inspirational image is in my sidebar.

And, we have blog candy galore at I Did It Creations.

Follow these links to sign up for your non fattening candy.
Fun challenges are happening at both challenge blogs.

A Little Under the Sea Fantasy

Good Morning everyone.

I have a lot to tell you about today.

First this card is for

Emboss It
Something New
Summer Dreams
Turquoise, Gold, Cream

The image that I used is from Fanyella and is a brand new image
that I've just added to my collection.
The background is embossed and sprinkled with
turquoise glitter. I used crystal glitter on the image. It looks
much better in person. The shell is something that I picked
up on one of my beach walks. It has been inked turquoise and
glittered. I even glittered the grasses.

At I Did It Creations challenges this week we have
our Challenge #10 3-D and blog candy.

Be sure to stop in and leave your comment for the blog candy.
There are some beautiful sample cards for you to see
using this Fanyella image.

Drum Roll, please.........

Here is our Blog Candy.

I hope that you join us in our challenge.

It's a Beautiful Morning

This is a beautiful way to spend a morning.
Strolling the beach early in the day before the crowds arrive.
The sunrises are gorgeous.
I am renewed after spending time there.

I made this layout for the following challenges

Green and Brown
What makes you go Grrrrr?
I Did It, Stitchy Bear Did It, U Do It 2
Inspiration challenge

I really had fun making this layout.
It isn't something that I do very often.

I used this sketch from Sketchy Thurs.

The photos are some pictures of the beach where I go,
What makes me go Grrrrr? When I'm walking on this
beautiful beach and I see litter. How can people
just leave and not take their trash with them? Grrrr!

Thanks for looking.
Your comments are appreciated.

Soartful on a Saturday

The Theme at Soartful Challenges this week is
She's Got Style

This is the image that we are using in our artwork
or just for your inspiration. What is your style?
Show us at Soartful.

My quotation is from Mid Summer Night's Dream
by Shakespeare
Summer Solstice

I used Peaseblossom, Cobweb, Moth and Mustardseed
characters in Midsummer Night's Dream and a quote
from the play. The characters have been cropped from the
original image and placed on this summer block print.

It already feels like it's midsummer here. It's been hot, hot, hot.

This is hot, too.

We are having a DT Call at
follow the link for all of the details.

I Did It.....Now You Do It

Be Creative
Open Challenge

This week we are sponsored by Trees aWard in Digital Stamps
Teresa has graciously offered a freebie to use for this challenge, here.
Follow the link to see more beautiful creations by the DT
using Teresa's lovely digi stamps. She even has a card that
she made on display. Don't miss it. It is stunning.

Now, I couldn't make up my mind which image I wanted
to use this week for the challenge. So I mixed and matched and
used 2 of Teresa's images. I added the sandbox and the truck from
my clip art collection.
My creative juices came up with this card.

The theme is 'Be Creative'. I think this is pretty creative. It's just
another example of what you can do with ease with digi stamps.
A little resizing here, a little add on there, print all in black and white.
Ta da......all ready to color. I colored with chalks. I made my image
to large to put on a background so I layered it and added photo
corners. If you look at the original digi, here, 'little Joey' is really
at the beach. My 'little Joey' doesn't live near the beach, so.....
a sandbox it is.

My second sample is for a challenge that begins this a.m.
at I Did It, Stitchy Bear Did It, U Do It 2 Forum

I have been dying to use these tiny playing cards for such a long time.
I thought this worked pretty good. To make my bookmark I scanned
in a book cover. I cropped and sized for my needs.
Added the bright red text and printed. I trimmed it down and
added the playing card in the space that I left. Punched 2 red hearts
and added some fiber. This only took me about 15 mins start to finish.
And, I like it.

You are welcome to come join me in both of these challenges.
Follow these links

Join us we have lots of fun and we give prizes.

Be Creative

For the Guys

June 19th is Father's Day.

Here are a couple of guy projects that I made
for several challenges

Vintage Bookmark
Image Provided

Lace and/or Buttons
Photo inspiration
One for the Boys

This is the photo from Art Creations Friday that inspired this card.

I went with the textures of the different fabrics in this photo to create
my card. I used fragments of burlap, distressed paper lace and leather.
The embellishment is a vintage leather button.
I know, lace for a guy? Well, it isn't really frilly and
I did distress it by wrinkling it up and then distressing with ink.

If you are interested in free Copics classes or a free Paint Shop Pro class.
The details on both of these free classes are here.

Enjoy your day.

Red, White and Blue

Up, up and away in my beautiful balloon.
Cute little Teddy is is flying high on this card.
I made it for these challenges
Red, White & blue
Movie Inspiration with a Teddy Bear
My inspiration is 'Around the World in 80 Days'
It may not be a hot air balloon but it's a teddy and balloons
Use an Image from the Forum

I don't have an oval die so I used a circle. I tried cutting one by
hand, ha ha. Talk about crooked. I used my Cuttlebug with abandon
on this card. Texture is everywhere. I love embossing folders. The white
circle is already textured paper from CowTown Stamps. The image is
by DigiSparkle colored with Copics.

Speaking of Copics

One our designers from the I Did It Creations Shop is having a
series of Tutorials at
Fany not only sells in the shop as Fanyella she is a Certified Copics Instructor.
She has an article posted in the forum, Copics, Crayons, Pencils and More
Group. This is just a preview of what Fany is going to share in her

This is an excerpt from her article

"This is a little help, especially for beginner's who want to buy there first copic, it contain lots of little hint, for your purchasing worth. Because let say it copic could be, a big investment"

Just a Note: Fany translates for us from her native language French.

Have you wanted to learn to use an image program.

Robyn, from I Did It, Stitchy Bear Did It, U Do It 2 Forum

is now taking signups for her free class on

Paint Shop Pro.

This program is a free download and here is an excerpt from

a CNET review

"Reviewed by: Jessica Dolcourt on January 26, 2010

What you get with the latest version of PaintShop Pro is a midlevel photo editor with a low learning curve and some very nice editing and output features. The easily navigable interface puts photos front and center and surrounds them with tools and menus......."

A Bag Full of Goodies

Yesterday we hit 96 degrees. Whew! It was so hot
and steamy out. I spent some time in my craft room yesterday.
I'm gradually getting back into doing challenges, which I've
really missed doing.

My kitty has just dumped over a bag full or roses.

I told you that I still do rubber stamping. This is a tag made from
what is called a scrapling. Hero Arts has some nice samples
of scraplings. And if you use Google Images and search for
Scraplings lots of them come up. I found out about these a year
or so ago at Cardmaker in one of the swaps that we had there.

I decided to pass Scraplings on to others at the
as a challenge for the Christmas in June Party.
If you want to join in this challenge it doesn't close
until June 25th. There are many other fun challenges
to take part in while your there.

Back to the Scrapling. Mine is in a Christmas theme.
My scrapling is made from a 1 1/4" x 4 1/4" scrap. This is the
the piece that is left after cutting your card from a full sheet
of card stock.

Let's Make a Scrapling Challenge
We could choose from something or who
we love. I chose distressing.
Xtra Special
I chose Christmas for my extra special.

I distressed the background with several colors of green. Then I stamped
the pine branch with permanent black ink 3 times. Used a dark green
to smudge over the branch. Punched a hole in the corner and used
dark green floss (drab green) and a brown flower for embellishment.
This is a folded piece so you could write a little note
inside. They are fast, fun and you usually have lots of
these scraps just waiting to be used.

I've made a logo for my challenge blog

I think it matches the blog background pretty good.
Take a look and let me know what you think.

Have a great day. It's going to be another
hot and steamy one for me.

Flying High with Shakespeare

I was happy to see the theme of Shakespeare at

It reminded me of my many visits to the Old Globe Theater
in San Diego. While living in LA we made many trips there
to see the wonderful plays. I am surprised by how many of
todays stars I saw there in their early days. One was
a very knobby kneed Jon Voight. I'm afraid he didn't
look all that great in tights.

This piece also works for
Lots to Do
One Powerful Hour

The party is over at I Did It, Stitchy Did It, U Do It 2. I had
a lot of fun and it seems that everyone else did also.
The many challenges gave us some ideas for our
Christmas cards this year. All of the challenges are
still up and everyone has until June 25th to send in
their entries. Our surprise Guest Designer
did a tutorial on paper piecing using the computer. She used a
digi stamp ornament from Robyn's Fetish. Marlooney
turned this simple digi stamp into a beautiful Christmas ornament in
just a few easy steps.

Now, I haven't abandoned my rubber stamps but digi stamping
is so much fun to do. Sometimes I use both rubber and digi in one project.

It was a very busy weekend for me. Today I'm kicking back a little.
Enjoy your day.

I posted about this wonderful place once already.
But, I enjoyed myself so much that when I saw these
challenges, I knew what I was going to use.

Down on the Farm
Floral Tributes

My farm just happens to be a beautiful day lily farm. I admit it isn't
the first thing that you think of when you think a farm. But, then you aren't
me and have not just visited this lovely place.
For my card I used my own personal photos taken that day.
I also added a frame, butterfly and text.

Day Lilies and Butterflies

This ATC that I made is for a new challenge on the block.
Wings, Blue, Yellow and Brown

I love the texture on the background paper. It looks like fabric.

A Day Trip to see the Day Lilies

This is our car (husband inside) all nestled in a field of Day Lilies.
This is just a portion of what there was to see. We saw fields and fields
of beautiful day lilies. People were having so much fun pulling
around their wagons full of day lilies dug right from the ground.
There is a beautiful pond at the rear of the property. All is
bordered in gorgeous hydrangeas.
I'm so glad that we went.

Enjoy your day.

T.G.I.F. and I Did It Creations Challenge

follow the link for all details.

Ha! I don't have to worry about it being TGIF because
everyday is a Friday for me. Although, I have been waiting
patiently for Friday to arrive so I could post this card for
Challenge #7
For the Little Ones
Ribbon and Bows

This week at I Did It Creations Lauretta's Digital Stamps is
our sponsor. This is one of her lovely digi stamps called
Lili Rose.

I love how this turned out.
When I saw her name Lili Rose,
I had in mind this rose paper for a background and a
monochromatic color scheme. Who knew it was so hard
to blend beiges. The background turned out to be a bit off
from what beige Copics I have to use. With a mixture of
yellow, pink and beige I got a pretty good blend. Her shirt is
Antique Linen Distress Ink applied with a brush. Antique Linen
is also sponged lightly over the bg paper. The base card is
ivory, ribbon is shear gold metallic and the paper roses
were just the right color. The sketch that I followed has an
oval in the center but I used a Spellbinder circle in my handy
dandy Cuttlebug.

To me a sketch is a starting place. My cards never exactly
match the sketch. Visit the challenge blog to see how each of the
DT members interpreted this sketch. You will be amazed
at how they are all the same and yet very different.
Lauretta has also graced us with a beautiful card that she made
using the Lili Rose image. Also, you can meet our newest DT member

There is also a Freebie there just waiting for you to grab
it and play along with us in the sketch challenge. You
just might win 2 free images of your choice from Lauretta's
Digital Stamps.

So come play with us.

A final note: Lili Rose is just one of the new releases that Lauretta
has added in the shop. The I Did It Creations shop has 15 designers
selling their digis so you can always find something new.
There is also the sister site I Did It, Stitchy Bear Did It, U Do It 2 Forum.
(deep breath needed after saying all of that)
We have a fun and friendly forum and you are invited.
Also, get ready for our Big Christmas In June Gala, June 11th.
It should be fun filled with all things Christmas.

Here's to the Girly Girl

Girly Girl
Black, Pink & White
Metal Madness
Sketch Challenge

Quirky, Crazy, Magical and I Did It.
I think this card qualifies

The great image that I used is from Trees aWard in Digi Stamps
You can find her images on sale at I Did It Creations Shop.
Teresa creates wonderful images for us to use.
Even her shop logo is beautiful.

Now, on to my card.
The black and white background is stamped. Not having a stamp
positioner it isn't aligned all that well. But I fixed that with some
black and white sequins. The image is colored with Copics and popped up
with pop dots. The metal for my card is from a broken bracelet.
So there you have my recipe for quirky, crazy and magical and I Did It
all by myself.

Have a wonderful day.

For All of the Birthdays in June

Including me. Yes, today is my birthday.

I made myself a birthday card.
It also works for

Personal Symbol and Myths

I Googled images of Zodiac Signs and found this one.
I love the colors. I found a background that I liked and cut out the
main image and popped it on with pop dots. For June's birthstone
I used stick on pearls. There is also a touch of gold here and there.

The complete image is in my blog banner to
celebrate everyone that has a birthday in June.

Have you visited the new forum?
We are still under construction but today we are going live.
So come on over and join us.

Have a wonderful day everyone.
