Yes, my life is in transition. I am now getting used to life as a widow. What will this bring? Time will tell.

Time for a little Scrapbooking

Two weeks have flown by and it's time for another challenge at
Our challenge theme this time is
This page is also for
Sentimental Journey

I chose the local Library in Troy, MT, as my landmark and Troy, MT,
for my sentimental journey. I'll be going to Troy to visit my
mother late September. Troy is just a small town (pop. 963) in the mountains of
Montana. This is a picture of my mom's house.

It is an original Sears Kit house. So she even lives in a landmark.
But, I chose the local Library for my landmark because it is so important
to my mom. She is an avid reader and the library keeps her supplied
in books and magazines. She also finds all of
the newspapers there.
I took this picture of her house on my first visit.
I just happened to be there for this big annual event.

Lighting the World's Largest Living Christmas Tree (1st Saturday in December)

There are lots of interesting things in Troy considering it is such
a small town.

I've made my first Halloween card. It was a snap to make using
2 spooky papers from Robyn's Fetish Fright Night papers.
Robyn also has some 'spooky sentiments' that you could use on
your Halloween projects.

Fright Night Digital Papers
To make my card I used a sheet of the red paper as my background.
Cropped the tree silhouette from the purple paper. Added the flying
crow coming in for a landing. And, just because I could, I added
black ribbon roses. For my next Halloween project I'm going
to use the paper with the spooky old house.

I love these papers. The colors are intense jewel colors
and I've always loved silhouettes.

I've made this card for the following challenges
Vintage Halloween
Red & Black
Anything Goes
R is for Rose
Anything Goes

Enjoy your day.
I am with fresh coffee and the Sunday paper.

Fairy From the Orient

This Taoist Fairy really captured my interest. I just couldn't wait to use it.
Her wings are a bit hard to see but they are there. I had a red paper
that was the perfect shade to use as the card. The green is plain white
card stock that I colored in my image program. I added this to the
bottom of the printed paper. There is also a bit of dry embossed vellum.
For sparkle and shine I used gold gel pen to highlight the image and
outline the panels, Gold thread and dew drops.
I hope you like it as much as I do.

Today is the first day of the Soartful inspiration challenge
Our theme is Goddess. See sidebar for image and link.

My Taoist Fairy is for these challenges.

Tuesdays are for the Birds

Everyday is for the birds for me. I get so much enjoyment out of watching
them. I have several bird identification books and slowly I'm learning to
put a name to many of the birds that I see.
The shore birds are all new to me and I don't think I'll ever
get tired of seeing a stately heron standing like a statue at the edge of
a pond or a crane in flight.

My ATC is for the following challenges

With Wings
Say it with Shapes
Anything Goes
Anything Goes
Monochromatic w/touch of one color

Butterfly Verse

I love this digi stamp by Crafty Pad Designs
who also happens to be our sponsor at this week's
current challenge at
This is a lovely butterfly set including butterflies,
verse, and borders. And, it is now available at
End of Summer Sale at 47% off.

I made a simple tag using 2 of the butterflies and the verse.

This is also for the following challenges

Glitz & Glitter
Anything Goes
Bling it on Baby

We are finally starting to cool down a bit. Just a few degrees
but it makes a lot of difference. Especially, the drop in the humidity.
I've just been wilted all summer. I really neglected my flower
garden this summer. Even in the mornings it was too warm to
work outside for very long. In spite of my neglect I'm getting
fruit on my ornamental Banana plant, my bottle brush
doubled in size this year and soon I'll have lots of
beautiful yellow chrysanthemums in bloom.
Thanks for stopping by.

Angela of Toucan Scraps hosts our Digital Scrapbook Challenge.
For the Beach Party challenge she gave us this wonderful
step by step class and challenge. One of here steps
is 'add shadows'. I am just dazzled at how much different
a shadow can make. It really made my shells pop on the page.
Being new to scrapbooking is sure fun. Especially when you
can learn such easy tips from a talented designer. Oh, did I mention that
Angela designs her own line of scrapbooking papers.

My first page with shadows. The picture is of me
on the day of our arrival in Myrtle Beach. I fell in love with
the beach and we are still here 4 years later.

This is also for
Favorite Day
Any day that I go to the beach.

Thanks for stopping by.

My Scor-Pal and Me

I really dithered around about buying a Scor-Pal.
I really like fancy fold cards but when I did mine
something would always be crooked. Well, I bought one
and I've never looked back. Just forward at all of the projects
that I can make using my Scor-Pal. Just look at this list.

Robyn's Fetish does of a lot of sponsoring of challenges
and Tuesday Throwdown is one of them.
Sometimes we are asked to provide a GD.
I jumped at this one because their challenge for this week is
More Than One Fold

This is my card using RF image 'A Little Birdie Told Me'
flowers from Wild Orchid and my Scor-Pal.

Today is opening day of the latest challenge at
Our theme is Flowers.
This is also for

The joke is on me.....I saved the wrong copy of this LO. The one
I wanted had a beautiful white scroll behind the picture. It looked
really nice against all of the white lines. The
picture is of the first Gardenia bloom on my bush.
The bg paper is from Stampin Dragon 'Gentle Waves'.

Fun time is over now. I'm off to McDonald's for a yummy
sausage biscuit and then a little shopping at Walmart.
I didn't shop much at Walmart until we went on the road
in our RV. Yep, you guessed it, we would occasionally park
for the night in their parking lot. That was how I discovered
how much money I could save by shopping there. They seem
to be downsizing there craft's department and that annoys me.

Have a wonderful day and thanks for stopping by.

Do you have one of these on your lawn?

I'm helping Angela of Toucan Scraps
with the Designer Highlights for August in
promoting the designers at
RAK Scraps is devoted mostly to digital scrapbooking.
I'm a novice at scrapbooking so it has been a fun
learning experience for me.
I am hosting the Disigner Highlight section for
Cardmaking. Ahh, I'm more familiar with that.
This is a digital creation that I've posted in the
sponsor portion of the Gallery.
It is a brand new image by Robyn's Fetish called

Oops, I forgot to crop this one. The gnome is colored
with Copics. Everything else is digital.
Like I said I'm learning a lot at RAK Scraps. Something
I just learned from Angela is adding shadows to the elements
that you add to your digital creations. Don't look, there aren't any
shadows in this one because I just found this tidbit out yesterday.

Have a wonderful Sunday.
I'm off for a cup of hot coffee and the Sunday paper.

It's Scrapping Time Again

I have used this image of my mom several times. This is the
first time that I got it enlarged without blurring. I love this
picture of her. She is so flirty and sassy. The original picture
is about 1" square and black and white.

I made this as my DT sample for
Flourishes and Swirls
This challenge just opened today and runs until
August 16th.

It also is for the following challenges
This Kiss
Revamp or Redo

Add scrapbooking to your creative project list.
It's fun, easy and so rewarding to make a beautiful

Just a note......Mom had her 90th birthday in July.

Fashion Design

I'm no Coco Chanel but I sure had fun designing my
paper skirt.

The skirt is an image from google images. The dress form,
quilt, buttons and stitching are from images that I've collected
over the years. The quilt is originally a riot of beige, red and green.
I used an antique filter and toned down the color. I duplicated
the quilt twice for the cropped pieces needed to decorate
the plain red skirt. Added the stitching and buttons and
now it is ready for the following challenges.

Dressing Up

Enjoy the rest of your day and
thank you for stopping by.

A Dream Layout

I was feeling creative and thought of doing a
layout for a few challenges.

Somewhere Over the Rainbow
Elements - Air
Open use
Butterfly or Fairy

I like how this turned out. It is somewhat different than what
I usually do because I didn't include an actual photo.

I will also be posting this on my own Scrapbooking challenge blog

Keeping myself entertained on a rainy day.
