Yes, my life is in transition. I am now getting used to life as a widow. What will this bring? Time will tell.

Time for a Spot of Tea

It was such a gorgeous day out yesterday. It's about time. Here
in coastal SC it has been so cold for such a long time.
My husband and I went out and did some yard clean up.
What a difference. All of our leaves are finally gone and
the walks got a good sweep.

is releasing the brand new
Even better, today, Jan 31st, you can get them on sale
for 30% off.
I made my card using the new
English Tea Cup

To make my card I edged my white base card with
metallic gold and then when over with gold pearlescent paint.
The lace is from a doily and I colored my image with
Copic markers. The flowers are fabric roses on a scrap of doily and
gold thread. I love the printed paper but I can't remember
where I got it.

This card works for the following challenges.
Crafty Catz - Flowers
Allsorts - Recycle (Doily)
Creative Friday - Vintage
Paperminutes - Flowers

I just heard the weather on the radio. Our warm weather
is going away already. Today low 50s and rain is coming.
Where is Spring?

Thanks for joining me today.

This digital creation is for
Pen/Pencil

The Fox Writing with Quill is displayed as part of the NYPL digital collection.
The background is a vintage postcard. The drawing is of the NYPL.
The quill and ink well are from my stash of images.

A few weeks ago I ran across the challenge blog
One Layer Cards at Styles Ink
The object of the challenge is to make a card
that is only one layer.
A one-layer card is defined as a single piece of cardstock folded in half. No other layers allowed!

This is very similar to the cards that I made when I first started stamping.
They did include stamped images but they rarely had any layers and not
many embellishments at all. Let's see.....that was over 20 years ago.
My how card making has changed. This wasn't an easy challenge for me.
The black is just a background for scanning. This card base is white
with the dark gray sentiments. Four sentiments were used.

Challenges entered with this card
One Layer Weds - Two or more sentiments
Little Red Wagon - One layer wonder
Challenge Up Your Life - Clean and Simple

Thanks for joining me again today.
I'm always so glad to have visitors.

Got the Blues?

Oh, not really. It is just my snappy title for this
card that I made. Blue is not my first choice of colors.
But, you know, I always like how they turn out.

This is my DT card for the
I Did It Creations challenge this week. I'm only
a couple of days late with it.

This cute little bear named Roger is a digi stamp by
who happens to be sponsoring our IDIC challenge this week.

This is the first time I've used my get well beads. And, this paper
is brand new. I just bought the new pad of papers by
g.c.d. Studios called Sophisticated Frost at Big Lots on Sunday.
Sometimes you can find the nicest crafting supplies there at the
nicest prices. The circles were cut using Spellbinders circle Nestabilities
in my Cuttlebug.

One blue that is lacking around here is blue sky. We are on our
second day of rain. We just warm up enough to go out and work in
the yard and darn if it doesn't rain.
I didn't want to rake leaves anyway. I'd rather stay
inside in my craft room.

This card works for the following chllenges
Crafts 4 Eternity - Color Recipe
Paper Play - Cutie Putooti
Paper Crafting Journey - Let's Get Digital
The Creative cottage - Something New
Incy Wincy - Bears, Bears, Bears
Pile It On - Anything Goes
Glitterbabe - Anything Goes

Tomorrow is the IDIC 'We Do It All Weds' post.
Gurkiss is going to show us how to make
beautiful handmade flowers out of coffee filters.
Please stop by and take a look.

Well that just about does it for a very drizzly day
in Coastal SC. Thanks for joining me today.

The Party is Over and I have a Winner

Recognize your logo Jo?
I hope so because you have won my Blog Candy Prize
for the Charisma Cardz Blog Hop.
Congratulations Jo.
choose
3 digi stamps
or
2 digi stamps and one set of digi papers.
Contact me at jeanette_wtrs@yahoo.com
with Blog Hop Winner in the subject line.
Congratulations again Jo.
Thanks for hopping along with Charisma Cardz.

I tried a new to me technique to make this tag. I love how this
turned out.

I recently bought all of the Ranger Distress Ink Pads.
I was so excited to finally be using them. I've wanted them all for the
longest time. I tried direct to paper distressing with Tattered Rose, Fired Brick and
Aged Mahogany. OMG, these blend so nicely. I found this great clip art image
and cropped out the main image along the sculpted border.
Added glittered metal dots and shear fabric flowers from my stash and
trimmed one edge with distressed paper lace.

This is where I bought my Distress Ink Stamp Pads.

We are having such cold weather here in South Carolina. Even here
at the beach. We've had snow sprinkles twice this winter. It just isn't
supposed to be that cold here. Brrrrrr!
Where are my long john's?
While we are waiting for it to warm up we are redoing our
sun room. We are putting new flooring down. I'm so excited about
doing this. We had pulled up some horrible indoor/outdoor carpeting
and have had bare plywood floors for such a long time.
Challenge List:

Paper Cutz - Use Metal
Phindy's Place - Distressing
Crafty Purple Frog - New things or technique
Stampavie - Glitter
Crafty Card Maker - Red & Die Cut
Ooh La La - Bling it On
Incy Wincy - Go Dotty
Digis by Poohka - Anything Goes
Crafty Hos Challenge - Monochromatic
Paper Sundae - Circles

Thanks for joining me today.
