Yes, my life is in transition. I am now getting used to life as a widow. What will this bring? Time will tell.

The Dance

I seem to have caught a 24 hr bug from somewhere.
I totally lost yesterday.  What a miserable time
I had but today all seems to be fine.  I hope I don't go thru
that again soon.

Enough of the pity party....here is a 4 x 4 that I made.

I made this piece for a 4 x 4 Dance themed swap at
this is our social group to go along with our

This theme really had me at a loss.  Then finally, things started to fall
into place.  I love the vintage dance card in the background.
When I trimmed the printed paper to size I had the scalloped edge left over.
I wanted to use it so I just added it across the top.
The image is colored with Prisma pencils.

This is also entered in the following challenges.

Theme Thursday - Vintage
Crafts and Me - Vintage/Distressed
Paperminutes - Olive,cream/white, pink
Lollipop Crafts - Shabby Chic/Vintage
Sparkles Forum  - Anything Goes
Take a Word - Memories

Altered Box

This is my Altered Box for a swap at
which is the member group for discount shopping at

I've never done an altered box before.  So this was all new to me.
At a church garage sale, I found a really nice unfinished box for
just 25 cents.   I couldn't pass that up and it was the perfect size.
I did some sanding and painted the box white.  Around the edge of the
box lid is a gold sticker strip.
I use flowers, vintage clip art and pearls to decorate the top.
Well, now, that wasn't so hard.

Top before distressing with sandpaper

Completed box.  I filled it with a few goodies.

This works for the following challenges

Creative Friday - Open Theme
Truly Scrumptious  Vintage
Try It on Tues  - Upcycling
Scrappekammeret - Everything Permitted
Sparkles Forum challenges  - Anything Goes
Anything Goes Challenge  - Pink and Brown

I hope everyone had a lovely Easter.

Blue Bird of Happiness

This is a tag that I made for a recent swap at

Which the our fun and fabulous group site that is your door to
discount shopping with
never pay retail again.

I really had fun making this tag.  The cage is painted with metallic copper.
I did a bit of distress sponging around the edge.
The copper circles are from an old Christmas flower spray.
I didn't have the right color of pearl for the flower center.  So
out came my trusty Copic marker and I colored on to match.
I often custom color my embellishments.   Just a little tip for you to try.

This card fits the following challenges

Papercraft Star - Recycle for Earth Day
Freshly Brewed Challenge - Sparkle and Shine
ABC Challenge - S = Sparkle
Gingersnap Color Challenge - Copper, Ginger or Rust
Top Tip Tues - Open challenge
Whoopsi Daisy - Free and Easy
Ann's Creative Nook - Anything, use a technique

Today I'm off to the Farmer's Market in downtown Myrtle Beach.
It just reopened for the year last week.
I am going to get my fill of turnips, rutabagas, radishes and asparagus.
I'll be a gonner for sure when the peaches arrive in May.
Nothing better than a freshly picked peach.

Thanks for joining me today

Feathers and Flowers

I recently hosted a Card Swap at
We were to swap a card that we had colored with our Copics, plus,
Copic color our embellishment to match.
This is my card stamped on Vellum layered over ivory card stock.
My pearls and feather are colored with Copics.

Peacock Feather by La Blanche Stamps
This is the first time that I've used my new
LaBlanche Stamp mfg in Germany.  These are just now
becoming available in the U.S.

As you can see from the stamps pictured they are a bit different.

La Blanche Stamps
LaBlanche stamps are gorgeous from Germany and are high quality heat resistant silicone stamps on a 1/2 thick foam base. This makes for easy and detailed stamping with little pressure required.

Personally,  I love these stamps.  They are going on my
favorites list.
La Blanche Stamps are now available at
Discount Shopping Club
Follow the link to see our collection of La Blanche stamps.

This card fits the following challenges:
Drunken Stampers - Technology Sucks
Totally Gorguss - No Patterned Paper
Irish Teddys - Something New
Pile It On - Smells Like Rubber
(mine smells like Silicone)
CR84FN - Light Blue, Aqua & Cream

My crafting desk is near a window.  Something caught my
eye outside.  It was a bright green lizard.  I think he was
looking for a mate because he kept poofing out his
pink dew lap under his chin.  I'll have little baby lizards
running around soon.  The lizards love my patio plants.
I'm always seeing them on the leaves.

Thanks for joining me today.

Swimming With Elephants

First, I'd like to share this picture of my daughter riding
an elephant. She has just returned from a glorious trip to
Thailand. Visiting the Elephant Camp where they rescue
elephants and their trainers was a highlight of her trip.

Today, Sunday, is the first day of our new
I Did It Creations challenge. Our theme this week
is 'Sing a Song'. That is make something that includes
or represents a son title. We are sponsored this week by
JLJ Designs. Come join us you can get a freebie just for
the asking and you might win a prize.

This is the card that I made.

I used the Rosie in the Pool image by JLJ Designs.
This is a pretty simple card but I think it is so cute.
The sun in the background is done with chalk and the image
is colored with Copics. The grass image is from my collection.
It doesn't show up to well here but the pool is popped out
in the center with the edges glued down to give it a curved shape.

This card is for the following challenges
Fussy & Fancy - For a Child
Aud Sentiments - For a Child
Craft Your Passion - Anything Goes

Think Umbrella

I could have used a store like this here yesterday.
Oh boy, did it ever rain. At times it was coming down in
buckets. And guess who had to go out for an appointment?
Yep, it was me.

This is my very simple entry to the

This picture was found in Google Images and it reminds me
of the main street town where I grew up. Some 60 years later
not much of the original main street exists except in my
memory. Most of it was torn down and replaced with
a covered mall.

My daughter has just returned from her trip to Thailand.
She has the first batch of pictures up on her blog
Thailand is very exotic and beautiful.

Have a wonderful day and thanks for joining me today.

Steampunk

Steampunk is becoming a real favorite of mine.
I've even used it for a challenge theme at
you will find the challenge in Files Section.
While there check out our
Shop for some discount shopping.
You won't be sorry.
We are now shipping the new Tim Holtz Steampunk Digi Stamp
and you'll love our price.

But, alas, I haven't ordered mine yet. So this Steampunk ATC
is created using some of my existing images.
I made this for the following challenges
Three Muses - Steampunkerie
Fun w/ATCs - Steampunk

It is a gorgeous day today. Over the weekend I bought a few new
plants for my flower garden. So I think I'll be heading outside soon and do
a little planting.

Do you have a Lowes in your area? I visit their discounted plant section,
usually in the rear of the garden center, each time we go there.
That is where I got these plants. They looked fine to me. So, I snatched
up an assortment of 6 paks and gallon plants for 50 cents and $1.00 each.

Off to get my hands dirty now.

Just doing a little sewing

I love this image by my friend Glitterbabe aka Stef
of Glitterbabe's Digis. Who is this week's sponsor of
Our challenge this week is an easy one....
Anything Goes.
My card uses a quilt patterned paper, lace, pieces from an old Simplicity
pattern and ruler paper ribbon. Oops, can't forget the buttons. I colored
with my Copics. So there my sewing is all finished for today.
Please join us at I Did It Creations Challenges. We have a prize
drawing each week and we also give a freebie each week.
The Anything Goes challenge will close on April 9th.

My card works for the following challenges

Creative Belli - Think Seamtress
My Partner in Crafting Crime - At least 3 Buttons

I hadn't intended to do any challenges with this card.
I don't know why not because I usually do. Well, I couldn't resist seeing
