Yes, my life is in transition. I am now getting used to life as a widow. What will this bring? Time will tell.

Spring ATC

It is still Spring according to the calender.  The first day
of Summer isn't until June 21st.  Well, my weatherman sure
isn't looking at his calender.  It is hot, hot, hot here in
Myrtle Beach, SC.  Even near the ocean where I live.  I've
heard the first Cicada's of the season.  I love that sound.

Today, I'm going to share my ATC for our Monthly ATC Swap
Everyone is welcome to join in our group so they can
take advantage of our club discount prices at our shop
That is where I purchased the Tim Holtz stamp for this
ATC background.

Oops, my photo is just a bit crooked.
I love this stamp.
Now, I just have to practice getting everything straight.

This ATC fits the following challenges:

Fresh Brewed - ABC Anything But a Card
Kaboodle Doodles - Distress, rip, tear, crumple

Well, I'm off to adjust the a/c to cooler.
Hot, hot, hot.

Thanks for stopping by today

Whew, it is going to be in the 90s today.  Hot and sunny.
I could use a pretty straw hat like this one.

This is my DT card, really and ATC for this week's

This week we are using Toucan Scraps

For this ATC I used the straw hat, cameo and papers that are included
in the kit.  The dress form and dress I found online.  The flowers

Going to the Circus

I haven't been to a circus since my children were little.
That was about 40 years ago.  I still can't believe that I have
children that are in their early 50s.  I believe it was a Clyde Beatty circus.
A circus comes to town here every year.  I always think about going for
but old time's sake.
I never do.

This is a 4 x 4 for another swap at
which is the group to belong to discount shopping club.

I used the beautiful La Cirque papers and other elements from
Graphic 45 that I got at OWSE.

I even found challenges to enter with this theme

Pixie Dust Studio  - Back in Time
The Rubber Cafe - Vintage
Bows and Berries - Circus Comes to Town

My Oval Tag

I tried something a little different.  I saw a tag similar to this one in a Cardmaker Magazine
and really liked it.  The parakeet stamp is from
CowTown Stamps.   I cut one oval from chipboard and then 2 from
designer papers to cover the front and back.  They were cut with a Spellbinder's Large
Oval.  The leaves are brads that I clipped the back from so they would
lay flat.  A few coordinated fibers and my tag is completed.
It really was an easy tag to make.

I made this word our Things With Wings Tag Swap at

It also fits the following challenges

Paper Minutes - Wings
Paper Take Weekly - Fancy a Punch
Whoopsie Daisy - Things with Wings

Oh Boy, it is going to be noisy here in Myrtle Beach this week.
The Harley's are here for the week.   We will probably stick\
pretty close to home because there will be motorcyles
everywhere.   They sure are pretty but wow they are noisy.

Thanks for stopping by

Perky in Purple

A very Happy Mother's Day to everyone.
Enjoy your special day.

One way you can enjoy yourself today is to join us in
the I Did It Creations challenge.
Our theme this week is Monochromatic.
There are prizes and freebies each week.

My DT card for this challenge really gave me a hard time.
I decided to step out of box a bit and not use a bright color.
My usual monochromatic color scheme is beige or golds.
I'm fond of purple and I decided a purple monochromatic color scheme
was right for me.  Wrong!  I really struggled with all of the purples.
I ended up sponging purple on the background paper and custom
colored the flowers.   I colored so many different colors of purple
on the image that I ended up making a mess of her face.

I finally finished and I'm sort of pleased with it.

I'm using this card in the following challenges

Stamp Something - Digi Day
Pollycraft Monday - Anything Goes
Bows and Berries - Bold and Bright

Well, that's it from me today.  I'm off to enjoy my
Mother's Day.
Enjoy yours, too.

Time

Time Flies
Good Times
I wish I had More Time
Time Waits for No One
but my favorite is
 Time to Smell the Roses

This tag is for another swap at
Outlaw Women Scrapbook Emporium
We have lots on ongoing swaps and challenges at OWSE.
Everyone is welcome to join in all of the fun.
And, we also have discount shopping in our Shop.

The watch face that I used on this piece has been in my stash
for the longest time.  It was a tad heavy but the sturdy kraft tag
supported it just fine.  A little distressing with my Distress Inks,
a cluster of roses tied with shear gold ribbon, a stamped border and tada....
my Time to Smell the Roses tag is complete.

This tag is also for the following challenges

Stamp with Fun - Lace or ribbon
Clear It Out Today - Ribbon or trim
Craft You Passion - Anything goes
Dream Valley challenges  - Flowers
CR84FN - Kraft, Gold, Pale Yellow

I have a lovely old Hickory tree in the yard.  It really is a beautiful
tree but it has got to be one of the messiest trees known to man.
Right now it is dropping catkins

They are really pretty but every breeze brings them floating down.
See the little nut?  Those will be coming down next.  The mature ones
are loved by our squirrels.  They dig these perfectly round little
holes and bury the nuts all over our yard.  We are going to have
a Hickory tree forest from all of the sprouts from uneaten nuts.

But, look what I found in Google images using these catkins

Beautiful isn't it.

Thanks for dropping by again today.

Serene Scene

A few days ago, I had an eye exam and I'm now ready
to buy new frames.  Luckily, my vision has not changed.
I can hardly see the 'E' without my glasses as it is.
My last set of frames came from the Vision Dept in a local Walmart.
I only paid around $18.00 for my current frames and I have
been really pleased with them.  So I want to go back.  We
have a brand new Walmart nearby now.   I waltz in there
with my new Rx....What?.....this Walmart doesn't have a
Vision Dept.  Well, phooey!!!!!

I made this piece for a swap at
Oriental 4 x 4
I really struggled getting started with this.  My collection of
Oriental style stamps is very limited.  I did find one that
was all symbols.  Perfect.   The focal image decided the
color scheme.   It is adhered using pop dots for a little
extra dimension.  I love my new Tim Holtz washers.  I
got them at a bargain price here.  The wood frame is
a couple of skewers cut to size and stained using Tea Dye
Distress Inks.  I'm having a real love affair with my Distress Inks.
I love them.  Another bargain buy from here.

I think this piece also fits the following challenges.

Rainbow Lady's Challenge - Take a Town, City or Country Break
Allsorts  Oriental

Thanks for stopping by.
