Yes, my life is in transition. I am now getting used to life as a widow. What will this bring? Time will tell.

Let's Dance

It's Sunday again and time for another challenge

This week the challenge is all about 'dance'.
Stop by and pick up your freebie and play along.  This week
we are being sponsored by

This is my DT card using Slyvie's Stamps 'Kiss'.

I love this image and I didn't want it lost in a lot of embellishing.
I colored with coat with gold and silver gel pen.  The rest of the image
is colored with Copics.   The simple music banner and sentiment are
computer generated.  The layering is edged with gold marker.

Everyone is welcome to join in our
I Did It Creations challenges.  I hope to see you soon.

I'm Going Back to Nature

with I Did It Creations challenges
The theme this week is Animals.
and this is my DT card

Oops, it's a bit tilted.  Sorry about that.

This week at IDIC challenges
JLJ Designs is sponsoring us.
They supplied the DT with images to use and
will be giving our prize this week.

I think we get in a rut with digi stamps by just putting them in
a panel and embellish around the panel.   I wanted to put my bear in a
scene.  What I did was put my digi image in my image program and duplicate it.
Printed and then colored one and cut the other out for to use as a mask.
I lightly added spots of Zig 2 way glue and let dry.  This creates a
a glue that can me re-positioned.   When the glue was nice and dry
I covered my colored image with the bear mask.  First I chalked green for grass
and blue for sky.  This looked sort of plain so I decided to scallop
the top.  I used my toothpick holder to trace around for my shape.
I stamped the tree right over everything several times using different
shades of green.  Sometimes I used the stamp twice before re-inking.
Now, I can't draw worth beans so I scribbled in a line of bushes.  They are
mostly just different shades of green dots.  My bear is taking a minute
to stop and smell the roses by going Back to Nature.
I embellished with twigs from the yard.
Masking is really easy....you should give it a try.
See, where there is some blank area around the bear's head.  That shows
where the mask should have been trimmed just a bit smaller.
The tree stamp that I used is by Stampin Up.  This is such an old
stamp I don't even know if they carry it anymore.

I'm entering the following challenges

Simon Says Stamp - Anything goes
Paper Pretties - Animals
Pollycraft Monday - The Great Outdoors
HLSC Challenge - Critters

That's it for today.
It is a glorious Sunday and right after breakfast and the Sunday paper,
I'm going to go back to nature in my yard and pull some weeds.
This part of the nature's bounty I could do without.  But, I will be outside
with the birds, butterflies and lizards.  I also have a barking frog
outside somewhere.  Maybe he will bark at me today.

Primitive Bear

I've been wanting to use this adorable Primitive Bear from
the Primitive Collection.  I just love the images in the collection.
I think I've used them all now.

I am doing a Guest Designer spot for
Do You Stack Up Challenge this week.  I decided to finally use
the Primitive Bear.  I thought he would work good with
the theme Sew - Faux or real.

Well, I hardly sew a stitch so I went for the Faux.  Looking through my
designer papers I found this fun paper that reminded me of a quilt.
The dp is the Mykonos variety paper pak by 7 Gypsies.
I bought this paper at
Outlaw Women Scrapbook Emporium at a great discount price.
Now, I've got my primitive look started.  I gathered a up a few other supplies that
I thought would work.  I ended up with rick rack and buttons.
I colored using Copics.  The faux stitching was done with a black
Sharpie.

Thanks for stopping by today

I used chalks for the backgroung and the digi image is

Simple Floral

our theme is Floral.
The new challenge begins at 7:00 this morning.
And, it is being sponsored by my friend Stef of

My card

The digi stamp that I used is Silhouette #1 w/sentiment.  You can find this
digi in Glitterbabe's shop HERE.   I love this sentiment "Nature Never Goes Out Of Style"
I don't use a lot of sentiments on my cards but I do like
this lovely saying.  My inspiration for this card
is from and older magazine article that showed a similar card  using
a silhouette and a gradient background.   I added a thin black border
for just a bit more definition.

I hope you will join us for this week's challenge.  You can see
DT samples using Glitterbabe Digis, request a
freebie and you might even win a prize.

This is also for the following challenges

Catch the Bug - Clean and Simple
Allsorts- Free and Easy July
Joyful Stamper - Inspire Me Fridays
Aud Sentiments - At Least Two Words
Charisma Cards - Flowers
Try it on Tues - flower Power

Irresistibly Sweet

Yummy!  Look at this strawberry pie.
Now, that is something irresistibly sweet.
I'm pleased to have my blog associated with something
this darn good.

I have Susan to thank for this award.   You can find Susan at several places
on the WWW.  Her personal blog is the Stampin' Kat,  she also writes the
Robyn's Nest post each Tues. and she is
the very important Director of Marketing for Robyn's Fetish Digital Stamps.
Take a minute and visit the Robyn's Nest and get your freebie and
enter the contest Susan is now having.

Now, I'm notoriously bad about following the rules
when receiving one of these awards.
So everyone, please forgive for not making my lists, etc.
That doesn't mean that I don't appreciate receiving this,
because I certainly do.  I'm just bad at that part.
So, a big thank you again to Susan.
I think my blog must be in some pretty good company.
This will be posted permanently in my sidebar.

a cluster of punched stars for embellishments.
They are all ready to lead the parade.
