Yes, my life is in transition. I am now getting used to life as a widow. What will this bring? Time will tell.

Always Remember

The theme is Wedding/Anniversary and the optional colors are Red / Burgundy / Green

The arbor and bird and the veil are from Stefairy Scrap.
I really wanted to use the veil.  I think it is gorgeous.   I didn't
realize how hard it would be for me to find the back view of a
groom.   Nothing in any of my collections.   On to
Google images.  Finally, a free clip art version that would work.
Also, found the top hat in Google Images.

Have a wonderful week.

Time

"Time is an equal opportunity employer.  Each human being has exactly the same number of hours and minutes every day.  Rich people can't buy more hours.  Scientists can't invent new minutes.  And you can't save time to spend it on another day.  Even so, time is amazingly fair and forgiving.  No matter how much time you've wasted in the past, you still have an entire tomorrow."  ~Denis Waitely

Digi Scrap

I've dabbled with digi scrapbooking in the past, even hosted a
Scrapbooking Challenge for a time.

Here are a couple of my latest efforts.

This is my mom.   This was made for a template challenge at

This one is the DigiDesignResort Use It All challenge.
We were given this great mini kit to use.
It is by DDR designer Aquarius.
Right now Aquarius is having a 'bundle' sale.  You can buy
a bundle of three kits and save up to 79%.  What a deal.

Thoughts in Pastel

I found a wonderful new to me challenge site.
Kim Klassen's Cafe has some beautiful textures to use
on her challenges.  Also, those all important tutorials.

My first challenge there happens to be Free and Easy using one of her
free textures.  I chose Oh My.

This piece is also for
April is National Poetry Month and in honor of that I thought it would be fitting to have our challenge revolve around poetry, but also include other forms of the written word,  a favorite quote, or novel, or perhaps merely a special word.

I used two of the Oh My textures.  One original for the background
and a lightened one as an overlay.

On of my oldie but goodie challenges is Soartful.
This time the challenge is Rainbow.  I used the rainbow
image provided by

"Life is like a rainbow. You need both the sun and the rain to make its colors appear"

Have you ever had a day like this?

Disappointment

We were given the window background and/or the girl for this challenge.
My piece is rather simple but some of my challenge mates are so very talented.
I'm just amazed at what they create.

Here Kitty Kitty

The kitty image reminds me so much of my sweet little Pamela.
We got her when she was just about the size of this kitty.
She lived with us for 18 years.   Pamela was very shy but oh so sweet.
When Pamela came to live with us I bet she didn't know
she would travel the US and Canada in an RV.  She didn't really
like it when we drove but she was a real trooper and
settled right in when we stopped.

Sunday Postcard - Blossom
Artful Times -  Green Background

This is one of the last photos that I took of Pamela.
I was taking down a fake ficus and replacing it with a living one.
I piled the dismantled ficus in a chair and darn if Pamela
didn't crawl in and make herself comfy.

I hung her picture in over my kitchen counter.
The old oven was a real find for 50 cents at the thrift store.
Yes, I have a red kitchen and I love it.

Here Comes the Sun

The sun has arrived but not the warm balmy weather.
We are having a cold snap.  Nothing serious enough to damage
plants but enough to turn on the heater in the mornings.

A simple piece for
Sun

This is a picture of a sunrise taken by me at the beach at

I love walking the beach early in the morning and watching the
sunrise.  On this particular visit my husband came with me and
we had a breakfast picnic.   Ahhhh!  Bliss.

Note to Self for Digitalmania

Our challenge this week is to create in the style of
Nick Bantock.  Among other talents, he does Mail Art.
I used a photo of him in my mail art.   From what I've
seen, he is as interesting as he looks.

Until next time.....

Foliage

It is a beautiful time of the year here in Coastal SC.  We are green
throughout the year but in Spring everything is revved up a notch.
We drove to Charleston yesterday and on the way you pass
thru historic Georgetown.  There are actually real places that look
like the above.

My favorite...the Live Oaks.  They just drip with
Spanish Moss.

Oak Alley Brookgreen Gardens, Murrells Inlet, SC
Ahh, such a beautiful place to live.

My Darker Side is Peeking Out Again

Every once in awhile I need to express my darker side.

Forever Night Challenge -  Little Red Riding Hood the movie
Gloomy Art Challenge - Red Black White

Time to get ready for a couple of doctor visits this morning.
Could that be the reason my darker side made an appearance?

Until next time....

Handmade Tag

I do seem to be concentrating more on digital work rather than
hand made.  Really, I do actually make some things by hand.
Like this tag that I'm entering in the brand new challenge blog called

First, I used a Spellbinders oval to cut the tag.  I don't know how
many colors or layers of Distress Inks in rosy colors were applied.
I just kept smearing and dabbing until I was satisfied.
I edged the oval with Liquid Pearls.  The chipboard has been
heavily glittered.  The rose is one of the beauties available from
Wild Orchid.  I don't remember where I got one of my favorite
spools of ribbon but I do love the toile design.

Now, for a bit more digi.

This is for Digitalmania challenge in the Waterhouse style.
I found that itkullpilli has a collage page of Waterhouse Beauties.
That is where my beauty came from which I put in a new
Spring Setting.    If you would like to see something interesting....
visit Digitalmania and look at Junibears piece using the same
beauty that I did.   Just look what can be done digitally.  To make it
easy to find we are right next to each other in the group of photos.

Thanks for stopping by.....come back again anytime.

And, the rains came

It has been a nice steady rain here.   My garden is just drinking it up.
Since we are having rain, I decided today was the day to post my
entry for umbrella challenge at Three Muses.

Main images from Innervoice/DeviantScrap and the umbrella
is from Google Images.

I found these sweeties while Googling umbrellas.

Spring has certainly sprung at my house.  My sweet green lizards are
running about and I heard the barking frogs for the first time yesterday.

Until next time......

Pyramid Trivia

The pyramids were originally covered with a highly polished white limestone so they would glisten from a distance. Some of these (albeit worn) are still visible at the tops.

Frida Kahlo Blue

For Inspiration Ave - Frida Fiesta

My color inspiration is from a photo of her "blue house" in Mexico City.

I also found this site

V Juliet

who shares with us what is inside Frida's closet from the book  El Ropero de Frida.

Enjoy.

Digital Fun

Well, maybe, not all fun.  I really struggled with this first
piece.  At Digitalmania our challenge was to create in the style

Third try, 4th, FINAL try.  I'm pretty satisfied with this piece.
There was lots of collecting of images, adding, subtracting, cropping,
blending......and more.

Now, this one was much easier.  This is for

rubys all new 5

We had our choice of two beautiful backgrounds.  I chose the blended

I wanted to keep my piece simple so as not to obscure the
beautiful background.   The frame is from Studio Rosey Posey, glitter rose, unknown
and misc white grunge overlay.

Finally, after weeks of treatment, delays due to a family emergency for the oral surgeon and
a scheduled trip for me....my poor sick tooth will be removed TODAY.
I have been so fortunate there has been no pain during this long delay.

Until next time....

Butterflies and Hearts

Today I'd like to share with you the piece that I did for
Ruby also has some wonderful digital image links for you to follow.

My Love Collage

The couple image is a Dover freebie and the small flower heart is
from a fun collage sheet free from Rubyblossom.  All other images
are from my collection.

And, who doesn't like butterflies.  I certainly do.  So does the
Rainbow Lady.  My next piece is for her Butterfly challenge, here
