Yes, my life is in transition. I am now getting used to life as a widow. What will this bring? Time will tell.

Blue is a favorite color for so many.  Not for me.  For me it
is an unhappy color....maybe a
bright blue sky makes me happy with the color blue.
But, I must admit I like how this blue digital creation

Thanks to Aneczka for the Blue Roses
Background, sentiment and glitter spray are from my misc collection.

As for blue is going to be glorious today.  So nice after
the rains of Beryl came thru Myrtle Beach yesterday.

Dress Form

I hope everyone enjoyed the first summer holiday.
Memorial Day weekend found us at home.   Many, many
people were out enjoying all that was happening this long
weekend here in Myrtle Beach.   There were many military celebrations,
Bikefest, our beautiful beaches and always the Memorial Day sales.
If you needed a new mattress or car this was your shopping weekend, for sure.

Challenge...Dress Forms

My digital creation using
Background - unknown

Speaking of going to the beach....
this is a LO that I did of Huntington Beach State Park, SC.
This is about 1 mile from my house and is such a beautiful place to go.

The smaller photo was taken thru the dunes at sunrise.

Ribbons and Lace

Ribbons and Lace, a girl can never have too much.
I have rolls, bits, pieces of ribbon and piles of lace.
So what did I do.....make a digital card.

For better or worse here it is....

I started with the cabinet card from Susee Que's.  The
actual photo used is here.
Next, I went thru my image collection and selected anything that I
thought would go.   Added, subtracted, re-sized and layered until I was pleased
with the effect.
Thanks to
Idgie's Heartsong for fabric and lace strips
Background lace and aqua ribbon - unknown.

I did find an old made by hand creation that uses elements
recycled from a vest found at a thrift store.
This vest had gorgeous fabric, lace, pearls, buttons and other
pretty trims.

And, there is still lots left of it to use.

A Bird

A very timely challenge at
Crazy Amigo this week....

Birds are in abundance around here right now.
I even got to watch a mama Cardinal give her baby flying
lessons.   He was on the ground on my lawn.  Mama hovered,
chirped and prodded him along until he finally got the idea.

I also found this web site featuring beautiful bird jewelry.

More of this gorgeous jewelry, handmade of polymer clay,
can be found here.

Hot Air Balloons

Hot Air Balloon

Having lived in Reno, Nv, I've seen some of the activities

Just a few of the over 100 balloons that participate each year.

One of the favorite balloon events is Dawn Patrol.

Truly, a beautiful site.

I found these beautiful vintage photos and immediately thought
they could be sisters.

By the way, I never had a sister just one brother.

My morning was more like a nightmare.  My computer threw
a fit.  I called my trusty computer geek,  my hubby, and he figured it all out.
Turns out my mouse needed to be replaced.  My poor computer was
all confused with the malfunctioning mouse input.
All is working smoothly now.

Now onto Dreams which it this week's word at

My inspiration is the above quote.  I've been reading the Affair by
In this book each chapter is headed with a beautiful quote from a book titled
In Search of Perfect Happiness by J. A. Braii.  I searched the
web and the only reference that I found about J. A. Braii is from
Santa Montefiore's web site......
J A Braii is a pseudonym for Jack and Angelica,
the two lovers in the book - braii is a barbecue, .....
No wonder I couldn't find it anywhere else.

P. S. Another wonderful read by Santa Montefiore.

Colours: Sepia & Earthy Tonings

I always have fun doing Steampunk.  As in most of my Steampunk
pieces, this leans towards the feminine side.

Elements - Lindalous Design
Woman - Scrap and Tubes

Almost time for fresh coffee and the Sunday paper.
Ahhhh bliss.

Ancient Rome

Digitalmania has another 'in the style of' challenge.
This week it is Dick Allowatt .

Credit for my piece goes to some wonderful digital artists.
Statue - Google Images

Between raindrops yesterday I did get my driver's license renewed.
Finally, that little chore is behind me.  We also stopped at the market
and bought a few groceries.  It's a good thing because I don't think we'll
be going out again for awhile.  We are under a Tropical Depression watch.
It is over one hundred miles out in the Atlantic at this time with a 30% of coming
ashore here.  I'm going with the 70% chance of it missing us.

I found a new to me author.  I love her books.  I'm on my second
book of hers.  Her name....Santa Montefiore.  I found my first novel of hers
at our local Salvation Army, the French Gardener, a few week ago.  I loved it so I went crazy
and ordered 10 more of her novels from Amazon.  Thank goodness I was
able to order used copies and save a ton of money.  They all have arrived
and I've already finished reading the Swallow and the Hummingbird.
If you are familiar with the author Rosamunde Pilcher who wrote the
Shell Seekers, you will probably enjoy Santa Monefiore.

Lock and Key

It's no secret the the Three Muses have really interesting
challenges for us every Wednesday.
This week is Lock and Key.

The lock and black cat are Googled.
The background of torn lace is from Freerange stock.
The fabric clusters are by Crystal Rain.

The rains seem to have let up for awhile.  I've been putting
off renewing my driver's license because of all of the flooding
between my house and the DMV.  Today has to be the day....
time is running out.

I like to watch HGTV.  I do miss all of craft shows they
used to feature....remember Carol Duval?   One of my favorite shows
now is the new White Room Challenge.
On the last show the contestants went shopping at this great store
in LA....Nick Metropolis.

I'm putting this shop on my to do list for my next visit to
my daughter's in LA.  She'll love this place.

Tulips are popping up everywhere....

....even on my blog.
The Collage Obsession theme this week is Tulips.

Images from Stefairy
Background, unknown.

I planted some tulips in my garden a couple of years ago.
All I get are leaves not one bloom.  Uhm?  My Gladiolas are
doing beautifully, though.   They will be blooming any minute now.

It's still raining.  Whoo Hoo, yesterday was really something weather wise.
We had lightening, thunder, down pours all afternoon.  Woke up this morning
with more to come today.

Peacock is the word this week at

I used Peacock wings and Peacock butterflies for my digital piece.

If I was to choose a word for today it would be STEAMY.
I just went out to get the morning paper and it was so
hot and steamy out.   Our temps are going to be warm today
with intermittent rain.  A very good combo for
STEAMY.  Thank goodness for a/c.

Let There Be Steampunk

I like the more feminine style of steampunk.
The image was Googled and demonstrates an appropriate
hairdo for the steampunk style.

Happy Mother's Day to me

I had really happy mail yesterday.
My daughter, Susan, sent this gorgeous hand painted
card that she made.
This morning I received a short but very nice email
from my son.
I'm a very happy mom.

Things with Wings

Well, I used both.

Matt Cusick style using a map

I love his style.  Mine is quite simple.  I like how the
map gives her a hairdo.

Mom and Me

This is my mother and me.  I don't have any idea when or
where this was taken.   My brother found this in our family collection
of photos.   The actual size of the photo is 1" x 1 1/4".
I scanned and enlarged the photo...other than that it
is shown in its original state.  I digitally layered it on to
a background paper with a photo corner.

Chicken Run

Sunday Postcard Art has a really fun challenge for
everyone this week.....Chicken Run.  Be sure to stop in
and take a look at all of the great entries.

This little chick isn't going to be sold.

We raised Rhode Island Reds at one time.

Daddy built the coop and pen.  He kept that coop spotless.
My job was to feed the chickens and gather the eggs.  Of
course I made pets of the all.
We also had a few Bantys that had the run of the place.

Here is a heart warming story about Gladys the chicken and
her friend Snowy.

Dutch Door

In the past a Dutch door was a very practical solution to
keeping livestock out and/or the children in while still allowing
a cooling breeze.

I think a kitty would love to perch there.  Maybe watching
the blossoms fall like this one.

Gentlemen is the word at

This wasn't nearly as daunting a project for me
as it usually is...creating a masculine piece...because
of Tumble Fish at Deviantscrap.  The Nitty Gritty set
had the perfect images to use.

This also works for Digitalmania that is exploring the style of

Thanks for making this a stop on your Monday blog travels.

I really had fun making this digital arrangement of flowers
for Crazy Amigos Challenge, Flowers.

I used elements from my collection.   The rose, my first choice,
suggested the monochromatic color scheme.

I don't usually worry about which day of the week it is.
But, after such a very busy week......

Very soon now I will begin to see one of my very favorite birds.
The Red Winged Blackbird.
They say they arrive in April but I can't remember ever seeing
them here that early.

The beautiful male

And, the rather plain Jane female

Another event that I look forward to in May is the
Blessing of the Inlet.    I'll be attending again this year.
The blessing is given at the Belin Methodist Church which
sits right on the inlet.
Here is a view from the church steps from a previous blessing.

It is such a nice day....browsing craft booths,  taking in the view,
listening to beautiful music and participating in the blessing.
All in the shade of beautiful Live Oaks.
You know where I'll be this Saturday.

A Moo is a Moo is a Moo

OK, moos are new to me.  Here is the Moo Mania description...

A Moo is a little card sized 2.8 x 7 centimeters, or approximately
1.1 x 2.8 inches.Beside this fixed size it is what you make of it!

My digitally created moo for the

I took this....
cropped the portion that I wanted to size and added text.

If you are interested in the names and sizes of the different small creations,
and, there are many, click here.
But, I can't find out why they are called Moos.
Does anyone know?

In the past I've used rubber stamps to create my inchies or ATCs
by just stamping the portion of the stamp that I wanted to use on
my cut to size cardstock.
Here is an inchie using just portion of a tree stamp.
I used white ink and white embossing power on gold.
I used glitter glue around the edge...not sure that I like that.
